We learned all about these seven different types of energy on the wheel.I can't wait to do more about this unit it has already been a blast!
We learned that when one cup has warm water and the other has cold water the warm water transfer's the heat to the cold and balences it out.We put dye in one cup it didn't change the tempurture or pour into the cold water. The warm water did not evaporate I thought the cold water mix into the warm water. The Temp Pros olny get messed up when you move them. We where suprised by the reasults because one started 15 celceus and the other 8 celseus and they ended at about 12 celceus with the smaller starting number being warmer.
In our energy lesson today we learned about what a fair test is and how certain things make something a fair test. For instance we did a experiment on which type of balls bounce higher than another type of ball on average.before we dropped any balls we had to make sure that when we did it we gave both balls the same amount of force, height and to bounce it on the same materials in order to make it a FAIR TEST.Jamie and I tested with a basketball and a ping-pong ball at ONLY MY eye level. We tested each ball three times and recorded the measurements each time.Next,we figured out the average of how high each ball bounced and compared the two(pingpong ball:82cm basketball:77cm).I was suprised about the results! I thought the basketball was going to bounce higher but the ping-pong ball did by 5 cm.
This year will be great because we are learning in a 21st century classroom which means we are doing alot of stuff on computers instead of boring worksheets and textbooks. For example we do all of our spelling homework on spellingcity.com
We have learned about so many cool things and do really fun things with them too.Like how energy works and types of energy, about political parties and goverment, what a 21st century classroom looks like,a bunch of reading stratigies and much more
