Self-Directed Students
I will be using this space to try to demonstrate how my students are showing individual and collaborative leadership, without my interference.
My students earned a classroom party for good behavior. I told them what I would bring and we voted on activities to do, but I told them it was up to them to make sure any other food or activities were planned by them. They decided to create a Today's Meet website for everyone to sign up to bring something to the party. They projected it on the wall and wrote instructions for students to follow! Misspellings aside, I'm so proud! :)
21st Century Education Builds Students Confidence & Decision-Making Skills
You don't have to watch the whole video below, but this is a good example of how my students feel confident and make decisions independently. Abby decided to video tape our end of the year desk cleaning just for fun. Who does that?!?!? I guess my students do! :)
