Muscle Fatigue in a Clothespin Experiment
All of us did a fun experiment where we tried to open and close a clothespin as many times as we could in 30 seconds. We repeated the experiment 10 total times. The graph to the left show my results. Here is my reflection:
There seems to be a pattern with my data. At first, my scores improved. I think this is because I am competitive and I kept trying my hardest. But then, my scores leveled off. I think I was at my maximum and couldn't do any better! After that, my scores started to get worse. I was definitely getting tired! Finally, my scores leveled off again. I think this is the best I could do at that moment, but I was strong enough to maintain it!
I didn't have a partner for this activity, so I compared my data with my students' data. I don't think many of my students had similar results. Most of them were up and down throughout the activity.
It's hard to know if my results are reliable since I only did this experiment once. I would say that I would probably do a little better next time because I've practiced it now. My data could become more reliable if I had help counting since it was hard to count that fast!
