In our social studies units we are learning about what a state of nature story was (a state of nature is a placed with no rules, laws, or government). So to tie in with a w.e.x. unit we made stories that took place in our state of nature. The basic timeline of the story is that in the beginning the main character is explaining how they do not like a rule or law. Then all of a sudden, the world becomes a state of nature. In my story a lot of crazy thing happened. For example my character sees a gorilla eating some leaves. Crazy right! What was hard was that the ending for me was hard to right but what was easy that the crazy events were fun to right about. It was a great experience.
Today we finished our Literature circle books. The book that I read was called Fever 1793. This book is very sad at a lot of points. What I like about it is that it is very adventurous, and constantly persuades you to keep turning the pages. What I didn't like was I felt like the middle started to get boring but it soon got better so if you read this book I recommend reading it to the end because it gets a lot better. This is a video of me explaining my science fair presentation. For my science project I wanted to see which size bubble wrap would protect and egg the best. What was hard about this project was when I di dthis project I took a bunch of pictures and some videos but what I was dumb about was that I did not upload the pictures right away or at least a couple days or even weeks later so months later I could not find them, I looked everywhere. Here is advice from me, if you take any pictures and want to print them or anything put them on a computer or a flash drive. Even though I lost the pictures it was really fun! I got to drop eggs on purpose, if your wondering it wasn't that messy. This was a really great experience doing this and by the way the large circled bubble wrap works best so if you are planning on packing something fragile I recommend wrapping it with bubble wrap with large circles. Before I started the experiment I guessed which one would work best, I guessed the bubble wrap with the large squares on it but it turns out I was wrong. I definitely learned a lot throughout this project. Today we went on a field trip to the SciTech Museum in Aurora! Everything is hands-on so, its just like a bunch of science experiments. Throughout the whole day we walked around and learned a bunch! Here Are some videos of me and my partner sharing our learning with the world. It was easy to see how a bunch of things work after you experience the experiment. What I though was hard is that some of the exhibits didn't explain much about what the experiment was and how it worked. I have learned a lot through out this field trip because of these hands-on projects. To improve my learning i think I could look deeper in each of these science projects.
