Today I finished my glogster that has everything that I made on it for Graham to win the election simulation in our classroom.Making this glog was challenging and confusing, putting all of these things on the glog including all of the graphics, drawings, videos, and more but, it was also very fun because I got alot out of it like how to upload things, about the steps for making advertisements for your parties candidate, all about what my political parties believes, how a debate works, how states have a certain amount of points that is given to the candidate that gets the most votes from that state, and much more! This lesson has been a blast!I can't wait for the elections to start! Who is going to win?

Today in class we learned all about how and why the leaves on the trees change color in the fall.
So this is how and why: The leaves on trees change colors because when the climate is changing the trees stop the photothinthysis while slowing down the chloropyll till eventually different colors come out of the leaves depending on what kind of pigments the leaves have in them already. For example,if they have carotene and xanthophyll in them they turn out yellow or orange. For the red leaves they have a pigment called anthocyanins which actually is not in the leaves until chlorophyll begins breaking down. Also the anthocyanins in the leaves are just protecting the leaves from sun damage and the cold, cold weather buying the tree more time to collect nutrients from its leaves. Today in class we did a insulater experiment. We took a bucket full of ice water and put a cup with hot water and a cote of batting over it. Then, we put it in a plasticbag and stuck it in the ice water cup. When it was in it for 20 minutes it changed its tempiture to pretty could, but the ather group kept it warm so we must of done some thing wrong. I thought that it was hard standing in the tiny place holding the cup in place! Over all I think the experiment was alot of fun and I would like to do it again. Good for me next week in class we are doing it again but that time we can put alot of stuff on all the way to fill a gallon plastic bag.
Today we made cards htrough e-mail for Mr.Badynee's 50th birthday!! He has been so nice and been very helpful. This is because he is the one who let Mr.Solarz teach how he wants to(which would be all of the awesome 21st century things we do in every subject.)He also has took money out of his budget to pay for the 12 iPads we have in our classroom and he took up most of his birthday watching our cards and sending thank you letters! Mr.Badynee has been a huge input in why we have such an amazing/awesome school!:)Thanks and happy birthday to Mr.Badynee!!!:):)
On our field trip to a Historical reenactment we learned A LOT about very different things. So, one person we met was a classroom teacher named Katherine Caird who I thought had very different things about her teaching than Mr.Solarz like she liked students who were quiet which was considered "good" children. But the first person we went to was David-The war master who told us about the laws an dhow if you were Irish you were treated better than the ones who were not.Later we went to listen to Joesph O'Fallen who is a scout a trader with the local tribes. (check out some of the pictures we took on the trip!)
Today we got to close our parts of speech lesson by doing fun Mad Libs online. The Mad Libs help us remember the parts of speech and the loads of details about them because you can figure out where certain parts of speech fit in certain types of spots in sentences but also, in the making of these Mad Libs we had to pick out a word out from a big selection that fit the part of speech that the computer assigned for you .I am so happy that this was the way we got to close our lesson it was so fun!Thank you Mr.Solarz:)!!
