Today I recorded myself reading my wex final story. I think it was hard because we were recording and we had to be fluent but it was easy at the same time because we didn't have to worry about points getting taking off for grammar mistakes. I got a couple set backs when people kept interrupting me but on Garage Band we could cut it out so it wasn't that bad. I think another cool thing about podcasts is that you can put your voice into your story. What I mean is that I can read it how I intentioned every character to say things. Having this experience I have learned that podcasting stories is a very good way to share your story with people. I think I could improve my learning by typing my story out and asking people what version they liked better, in words or read out loud by the author.
Arbor Day is a celebration for trees. Arbor Day was created by a man named J. Sterling Morton. This man was born in New York in 1832 but was raised in Detroit. Later in his life he moved to Nebraska. In Nebraska he soon became an editor of the newspaper. J. Sterling Morton thought that trees had a big impact on our lives. He expressed his opinions on planting trees in his articles and encouraged lots of people to do it. On January 4th J. Sterling Morton went to a State Board of Agriculture meeting and did his best to persuade people to create a holiday for trees called Arbor Day. He did his best and was successful, the date was set to April 10, 1872. They told people that the most trees planted on that date would receive a prize. About one million trees were planted in Nebraska Arbor Day, 1872.
How a parrot fish uses water
Drinking and Eating: Fish use water to get food and to drink. Fish also use water to get air and for a place to live. Keeping Clean: Fish keep clean by getting rid of their bodies waste in water. They also automatically keep clean because they live in water. Playing: I am assuming that fish use water to also play around in with there "fish friends". Other: Fish use water as a home. Fish began their lives and their children's lives in water. Parrot fish also die in water. Living things use water to get refreshed to get hydrated. Also, living things use water to clean themselves, cars, the dishes and more. Another example is how fish get their air from water. A third way that living things use water is getting food. Also if you were a plant you would need water to stay alive. One final way is that birds use water for keeping the ability to fly and they use water for a place to land.
I think that in the world we should have limits on our power. I think this because if there are no limits someone could take advantage, or abuse there power and use it towards something negative like hurting someone. If the president had no limits or did not enforce the constitution they would be allowed to make any laws, or do whatever they want. In order for the government to go smoothly we need limits on power. If someone were to go beyond these limits they should go to court to determine what the necessary.
For the past few weeks I have been working with my passion of the solar system. During passion time I had the chance to research about the solar system and figure out the answer to my passion question. Here is a video of my presentation: http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=plcp&v=UzTF3FQnNwk Here are the close up pictures of both of my posters. I could not take a picture of the interesting facts paragraph so i could tell you some. The interesting facts I found were off of the website called makemegenius.com Here is a link: http://www.makemegenius.com/cool_facts.php?mId=43
