"Yes" our question. "Does your state start with the letters M through N. The questions go on. We figured out that they live in Minnesota! We asked them if they are in the south part of Minnesota. We are trying to ask general question until we narrowed things down enough to get to their school the quickest. This classroom is trying to guess our state still. They aren't being very specific. Now the class is getting specific. Yah!! They got it..Illinois! After a few questions they are getting pretty close they just guessed if we were in Chicago. We are also getting close we are trying to guess what county they live in. The other class is very polite and is giving us a clue that they live near the St. Croix River. We are still confused on where their county is. We are continuing to ask questions but the other class is running out of time so we are going to ask two more questions and then stop . Let's see if we can get it......Ah Yah we got it they live in Washington County, we couldn'y see it . Now they are officially out of time so we are going to tell each other our schools.

Today in class we finished our Lit. Circle books! In my group we read Half Magic by Edward Eager. Half Magic is about some kids named, Jane, Katherine, Mark, Martha and these kids want an adventurous life but that was not happening at all. The kids were having a boring plain life is what they thought. Suddenly on an ordinary day Jane found a charm. Later that day they found out that this charm was magic only half magic. This charm might just be their ticket to the life that they have always disired but, through their wishes they found themselves in the middle of defending against a king.
Today in class we are beginning to start our fourth Mystery Skype. It seems like a lot of Mystery Skype but it doesn't really seem like it. We are still learning new things about this 21st activity. Communicating with another class in a different place, it is really fun! OK, now we are going to start We just called the other class a couple of times, but they did not answer any of the calls so we have to wait a little bit. The class has not been responding so we are just going to move on to another subject. Hopefully the class calls back soon:(:(
Today we did an experiment on how difficult it can get when breathing. For this experiment we stuck different size straws doing different activities. The first trial was just sitting down (trying to relax) with a big sized straw in our mouths. Then we walked in place withthesame size straw and after that we did jumping jacks, while trying to breath through a straw!!! It was really difficult. Next we changed the size of the straw to a itty bitty tiny straw. With this straw we only sat in chairs because wee did not want to passout. The most difficult activities to do with the wide straw was, walking in place, and diffenitly jumping jacks. We started to breathe really fast trying to catch some air and some people said that they got dizzy. I think that the causes of these results was how big our breathing source was. We breath through our mouths with the help of our larynx but the size of our straws was letting air pass through our body really slow. Though it was hard breathing with the wide straw it got even harder with a thinner straw half the size as the wide one!! Breasthing through that straw was so difficult that we just did one activity so that we did not hurt ourselves. I think that I breathing rate changes when you are active becasuse you get used to breathing at a faster rate that your body soon adjusts to the fast pace. When you are inside all day playing video games or watching TV or something like that your breathing pace it always at a slow resting pace becuase of the very low effort that you need for these type of activities. Your body will soon adapt to that slow pace, and when you are forced to run it starts to gat very hard to breath and you tend to run or walk slower.
We are doing passion time in our class. This is a new activity that Mr. Solarz has made up. Passion time is where you can read, do research or just learn more about your passion! It is really fun.

Today we worked on a organizer
We are researching the Human Body and the first unit is about the muscular system. This expieriement shows how that a muscle is always working in your body. (3)The reason people who learned a skill or trade had to be an apprentice before getting hired was that the master of the profession wanted to make sure that the apprentice was good enough at the profession before they made the decision to hire anyone.(4) I think that I can do this job because I like to build a lot of things and I have had experience with my dad. I think that if my master teaches me well I will be able to build a lot of things by the time my master is done with me.
Today in class we did an experiment on how muscle fatigue works and what happens when muscle fatigue occurs. For the experiment we took normal clothespins and pinched the clothespins as much as we can in 30 seconds. After that we record how many squeezes we did in our science books. We did this process for 10 rounds! It got really tiring. Finally we made a chart for our results at http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/.
When I was looking at my chart. I saw that my trial's had a pattern because sometimes I didn't get a high number of squeezes but, then the next trial I get a much higher score. Over all I almost each trial decreased from the earlier trial. The pattern I found in my chart was probably indicating how muscle fatigue works. My partner's data was kind of similar because they were going up and down, but my partner's (I was in a group of three) got higher score's than me. I think my results are probably in between being reliable and not reliable. It's toward the non reliable side because my group could've been counting to slow or to fast. It i probably on the reliable side because we had at least two people counting for each other. |
