It is really cool, and actually finished! I hope you like it.

In class, we learned about fair tests. You cannot have two different force levels or stuff like that. You also need to have the  most accurate estimates. We did a fair test in class, but it took such a long time to get even the littlest details right.

• This year will be great because we get to do everything on computers AND we get to do it with Mr. Solarz! It's a double whammy! Thank you in advance for letting us use computers and be in your class! How did you know I like computers so much?
  
• I have learned that not only are there the Republican and Democratic parties, but there are also third parties like Green or Constitution. I also learned that there are at least nine kinds of energy! At least that we are learning about.
  
• The goals I have set for myself is to a) get ready for sixth grade and b) to remember to take notes.
• The things that has surprised me about myself is that I have been learning much more than I usually do, especially in social studies.
• The advice that I would give to the other students in this class in order to help them succeed is to always remember to take notes!

I learned quite a bit about political parties in class today.  Here are some of the highlights:

• The names of the two political parties in the United States are called the Democrats and the Republicans.
• The smaller political parties are usually called third parties.
  
• People who don't want to register as a member of a political party can register as independent.
• People who are registered members of a political party ONLY HAVE TO VOTE FOR THEIR PARTY'S CANDIDATE DURING A PRIMARY.
• Here are three things that active party members can do during a campaign to get votes for their candidate:
• Get an ad in the newspaper
• Send out flyers
• Put up billboards
• George Washington was opposed to political parties because he believed they would separate the country.
• One final interesting fact I learned about political parties is that a couple of third party candidates have actually won, like Millard Fillmore.
