Great Britan ruled the 13 colonies. Every body that lived in the 13 colonies were subjects to Great Britan. Many people came to live and visit the 13 colonies. They saw it was unique, and bigger than other nations. There the land was cheap, and in Europe, only the rich people could afford land. That is why so any people came, they wanted to own land. In the colonies many people had land with farms on them to feed their families and themselves.
