Why does food need to be digested?
Today in class we are doing an experiment. We are trying to learn about the digestive system.
As i am looking at cup one, (which is the orange cup.) I am noticing that the gelatin is starting to leak through the filter. In the other cup,(cup two) I see that none of the gelatin is leaking through, very much. I think that putting the enzyme made the protein break up into smaller pieces, so that the gelatin could leak through. If you were talking about the human body, you would say that the cup with enzyme had more of the nutrients reach the bloodstream. But before any of that happens, the food needs to be digested. If you tried to eat something that wasn't digestible it wouldn't be very helpful to your body. It would not be because it wouldn't have any nutrients or energy in it.
