Today in class we were supposed to look at and describe a apple that has been cut in half. I learned how to look more closely at things. I also learned how to describe things better. I think that both of those thing will help me a lot in writing when I am describing things in my stories.

    In school we did literature circles. The book I read was Skeleton Creek. I really liked it because it was a mystery and there were videos that went with it. I didn't like it because the author kept leaving me hanging!

    Today in school we made motivational posters. The posters were about all of our 21st century skills we need to have in our classroom. (If you want to see more look on the other kid's blogs.One of my favorites is on blog 18's poster.) I chose two that meant a lot to me.
    Our teacher makes two kinds of report cards. (We are getting them tommorow!) One that is like the one every other school uses, and another one that he judges us on how good we are at our 21st century skills. On Tuesday we look at a packet with 34 21st century skills.
    I feel more like a 21st century student! I feel like one because I know how to interact effectively with others and guide and lead others!

    Today in class we colored in a online map now that we know who our president is, and also what states he won over.  Obama won by a lot, not only by 270 electoral votes but by 332! This is our countries way of saying Obama will help us!
    I am glad that Obama won because of 2 reasons. Number 1, Mitt Romney has already tried running twice and the USA has voted him out both times. Number 2, Barrack Obama has been running the country for 4 years and not much has been going wrong. America is in a hard position right now so I think that Barrack Obama has done good before so he can do it again!
    This is our 21st century way of learning!

    In the energy unit we are doing an energy debate! Because of that we had to make a persuasive organizer. This helped us when we made a video about geothermal energy.(If you want to see it just scroll down!)
    My teacher, Mr. Solarz, likes to teach in a 21st century way. While he does this we get to use lap tops, ipads, and lots of cool websites. I have learned lots so far, even while I am in a 21st century classroom!

    Today in school we made graphic organizer (above) for our energy group. We got put in groups and my group was assigned the Geothermal Energy.  This organizer helped me understand Geo thermal Energy because maybe you thought that geothermal energy was associated with water. In our organizer it said that it wasn't though so it would probably help someone that doesn't understand as much as me and my group do. I might use this organizer in the future because I might actually want to convince people that geothermal energy is the best one out of all the others. Also, I might use it when I want to show people it, but more importantly I would use it when I want to compare all the energys together.
