Watery Earth Lesson 3: How Komodo Dragons use Water

Komodo Dragon

This is the Komodo Dragon. It gets most of its water, surprisingly, its food, not drinking. It uses water to stay alive and also, because its a lizard and its cold blooded, to cool of from the sun. Cold blooded means it can't warm and cool itself like we do. It has to bask in the sun to warm up and swim in the water to cool off.

Humans

• I shower every two days
• I sometimes wash my face with a towel
• I drink a glass of water every day
• I get some water from my food
  

Both

• We and the dragons both drink water
• We and the dragons both get water from their food 
• we both bath at least some times so we both bathe.
  

Komodo Dragons

• They very rarely take a bath
• Again, they very rarely take a bath
• They drink water like us
• They get most of their water, however, from their food.
  

   1.   Why is water considered a "Natural Resource?"
   2.   How is water essential (required) to our survival and the survival of all living things?

1.Water is considered a natural resource because it is fond in the nature and nobody or nothing has done anything to it. Let's say Fizzy water.Well that is not a natural resource because people have added stuff to it to make it bubble up like that.
2. It is essential because all animals use water in one way or another and most animals drink a liquid water all the time. For example my Komodo Dragon. It uses water all the time. It drinks, it eats( which gives it most of its water), and it sometimes bathes, like most animals.
