1. What are the rules of a personal narrative? For example, "All personal narratives must have ______."
A personal narrative must have several things. These are: a single moment time, different sentence variety, dialogs, show do not tell, sensory details, adjectives, spelling of things correctly, proper capitalization, word chose, few repeated words, important objects, good opening and closing points, and expand upon the moment. Examples would be to not write simple sentences, like George went to the movies. A better way would be George went on Sunday afternoon with his mom to see Batman for the third time. This gives a better picture of where he is going and doing.
2. What skill in writing do you feel you are very good at and can help others?
The skill that I am really good at is using lots of details to talk about the moment in time. These extra details make the reader want to know more about the story. This skill can help others to write better sentences to help the reader understand what is happening.
3. What skill in writing do you feel that you should improve in?
The skills that I could improve upon is spelling things correctly, proper capitalization, and word chose. The reason why is that I have a hard time with spelling things and word chose seems odd to me. I have to take the time to slow down and think about what I want to say then write the sentence. The computer helps with spelling things once in awhile.
