Today was our principal's birthday and we made electronic cards to email to him. Mine is on the left. It was a video, and I could only screenshot the end. Just so you know, my card had a chef juggling ingredients for a cake. On his 5th juggle, the ingredients turned into a cake! The chef struggled under the weight of a giant chocolate cake and it flew straight at the screen. That was the picture I captured. This was 21st century because it was online and because everyone was really responsible about it. No joking around for us! |

Today in science, we did an expiriment where we tried to insulate a bottle of hot water. My partner and I worked with tinfoil. We wrapped tin foil around our hot water bottle and put it in an ice bath, where we measured how well it kept the hot water hot. The above is our results.
In science class today, we learned about heat transfers. Our experiment for today was to find out if heat can transfer to cool through a plastic cup. To study this, we used a thermometer that plugged into a computer and had its own app. We measured a plastic cup full of water for our hot, and a bucket full of cool water for our cool. Then we put our plastic cup into the bucket and put red dye in it. We did this so that we could find out if the water was going through the plastic cup. Then we stuck our thermometers into the water. We had 2 so that we could measure both temperatures. We messed up a little on it and we have 3 sets of lines. However, we can still see the pattern. The water gets steadily cooler or warmer through the line parts. I was surprised to find out that the water became almost the same temperatures! Both temperatures became an x and the red water didn't go through the cup. This was surprising because I thought they would just go on in a straight line, but they didn't.
