Today in school we learned about insulators in science. To learn about them more efficiently we did a science experiment. W took a plastic bottle and rapped it in any material we wanted, but the only rule was that it had to fill a gallon sized plastic bag. I stuffed it until I almost EXPLODED ( it actually did rip) some of the materials were bubble rap, felt, paper, and other materials. Once we rapped it all around the bottle we put hot water inside of it and covered the top with plastic rap. We needed to know how hot the water was so we put a temperature probe into it to know if it's getting cooler. We put the other one in the ice bath wee are insulated bottle was going to be put. It started out as 40 degrees cellcious and the cold water started out at 4 degrees cellcious when the warm water got cooler the temperature probe recorded it. After all we found out that the warm water only cooled down 2 degrees! I hope you thought that this is cool I do.

    Today in school we made a poll for or Campaigns we are trying to see what people would like to change in our country. I thought that the most important thing to me is illegal immigrants. I thought that some people might want to change what we do if we catch them. Maybe people think a different way then I do though and I want to know if they do. I thought that it is a big deal because when your raised your parent's teach to don't lie or steal and practicably break any law. But illegal immigrants are breaking the law so we have to do things about it! This is important to me because when we were learning about the whole election the thing that most fascinated me was how the United States only allow a certon amount of people in to live here! And some people don't follow that law. That's why I picked this topic and I hope I learn about other people stance on this issue and I might even change mine! 

Today in school we learned about why leafs change colors.In the spring and summer the leaves stay green because of photosynthesis that's how plants make their food from sunlight and other stuff. But once fall comes around there isn't that much sunlight to give the plant food so it starts to turn different colors like red, orange, yellow and brown. Because yellow and orange are practically hidden in the leaf. So when the green go away the other colors come out. The leafs change color into red because when the leaf gets too cold it turns red so it doesn't freeze.  Now, brown is different because it is just the tree's waste. I think that it is pretty cool, I would of never known this until Mr.Solarz told us about it!

    Today in school we went on a field trip to Olive School. When we got there people were dressed up in costumes from the 1700. They acted like real people from the 1700 too. Like the teacher that you see above this name is Katherine Caird. She had a thing called a encouragement stick it was a rod that she wacked her kids with if they didn't be have. Another person was Zebadiah he mad stuff out of wood on of his most valuable business was making coffins because a lot of people died back then and people had short live. One of my favorite person was the trapper his name was Joseph McFallon he would trap animals and skin them for food most of all and also he would make their fur into hats. The best animal fur to keep your head warm was raccoon fur. You can buy an achual hat made from raccoon fur but it is like 30 DOLLARS amagine how much it would cost

    This week in school we made Glogs for our Presidential Election in our class. A Glog is a online poster that you make there are many different things that you can put on it like: pictures, videos, sound affects, and other cool thing to put around the Glog. I thought that it was hard because if you don't do everything perfect it could look like a two year old did i or it could look very professional. I had lots of problems with it like pictures dissapeered and other weird stuff. You never know with technology when stuff is going to go good but probably more than half of the time it doesn't turn out perfect. I also thought that the advertisement was fairly easy some stuff tough got a little tricky sometimes. Like with the video that got hard at one point an other stuff did too.

    Today was our Principle, Mr.Badynee's 50th Birthday. so to celebrate we made him birthday cards not normal ones with paper we made emailed him electronic cards. This was 21st century because we did it online and we had to think creatively so you could actually send it and put your own words into it. Also, it was 21st century because we had to we had to make judgements and decisions because if you wanted to make the card rhyme you couldn't put 50 at one end of a sentence and great at the end of another. Mr. Badynee is special to our school because if he wasn't around Mr.Solarz's class might not be taught in 21st century learning. Also this Blog might not even exist! Maybe our school wouldn't have iPads or Mac Airs. That is why Mr.Badynee is speacal to our school (that can fit on this page). Happy Birthday Mr.Badynee!

    In school these past weeks we were learning about parts of speech like nouns and verbs. We played games and watched videos to learn about them. Today sence we are done with the unit we did Mad Libs. They help you remember your parts of speech because they ask you to type a adjective or another part of speech. I thought that this was fun because you never know if the word will fit in it's place or it will be plain old silly! It also helps you with your parts of speech because if you do it wrong then the sentence will be messed up or maybe the whole story!
