Today in school we learned about breathing. We breathed through a straw and did different activities. I thought that it was harder to do jumping jacks with a straw in your mouth then regular breathing it wasn't that hard to walk around the room with a straw in your mouth. Once you got the little straw it got hard to breath even without walking around the room. Breathing through the wide straw was hard because it isn't as big as your mouth and it can't fit as much air in your lungs as your mouth can. Breathing through a small straw affected me differently then the big straw because not a lot of air could fit through the thin straw so I could barely breath. Once you start breathing normaly you have to pant because you didn't get enough air. Your breathing changes when you get more active because you need more oxigen to get to your cells which comes from your lungs so the heart can pump it but when you breath fast it doesn't mean that your heart beets fast.
In school we have a thing called passion time were you don't have to do anything that the teacher told you to do. You pick one thing you want to learn about or improve on and "go wild on it". By learning everything you can about the topic. The thing that I wanted to improve on was writing I thought that I was good at it and it is my passion. The book that I am writing is called Run Away. It's about a kid that was left at a subway station by his parents when he was a baby so he got sent to an orphanage were he meets a girl. They both practically grow up together and when she gets adopted he runs away to find her. There will be many challenges he will have to overcome including hurting his ankle, finding food, and shelter.
Today in school we were learning about heart rates so we had to test our own. We choose 5 activities to do and then test our heart rate. The activity that increased the heart rate the most was 10 push ups because it used the most energy to do. The activity that increase the heart the least was resting because you were just sitting not doing anything. The way that I ranked my activities was accurate because the least heart beat was first and the most was last. When I became more active I got more tired and I got more heart beats. My heart rate increased when I got more active because I need to pump blood to those places that need the blood.
