This is my State of Nature story that I did. We learned what a State of Nature was in We The People. So what I had to do was My main character had to complain about a rule or law and then all of a sudden would find themselves in a State of Nature. My story had to end with the character wishing that there were rules and laws again
This is my backboard for the Science Fair. I explain everything on my backboard in the video. This was very valuable because I got to experiment and learn new things.
In W.E.X during the past few weeks we had to write about a mundane situation with an introduction, rising actions, the problem/conflict, and the climax/turning point. Then today we made a podcast, first we had to go into Garage Band, choose voice for what we were doing. Then after rehearsing our story we recorded it. After lots of editing and deleting parts of our story we had to save it and export it into a mp3. Then when I was putting my podcast on this blog I had to drag down audio and take my podcast that I saved from my desktop into the Weebly audio player.
I think putting our story into a podcast rather then a Google Doc and typing it up because just reading your story is faster then typing it. I think this is a fun experience using Garage Band for the first time in 5th grade and I learned a lot of things. This was also my first time using Weebly Audio Player. I thought this was really fun and I hope to do something like this again! Do you ever wonder who created Arbor Day. His name is J Sterling Morton. J. Sterling Morton was born in Adams, Jefferson City New York. Arbor Day name comes from a word Arbor which means tree in Latin. So technically it is also called "tree day". Arbor day was started in Nebraska City, Nebraska U.S.A. The first Arbor Day was held on April 10 1872. One million trees were planted that year. That was 141 years ago! The creation of Arbor Day was caused by the lack of trees in Nebraska in the 1800's. It's not only american holiday, lots of other country's have this holiday too. Interestng fact about this man is that his son created Morton Salt.
In class we did an Earth Day project. We took a walk outside around the school and we took pictures of the nature outside. I took a picture of flowers near the kindergarten doors and a picture of buds that will become leaves soon. These plants are natural because they are not man-made. This was really fun because it was warm and sunny and it was nice to take a walk outside and take pictures of nature.
