How Might Humans and Aliens be Different?

Humans

We have teeth to eat food and crush up food, we have legs so we can get around, arms so we can carry and the arms help us balance, last we have eyes to help us see where we are going. I think all the body parts do a job that helps the body does what it needs to daily.

Aliens

The legs are for climbing and holding on to the rocks. Without the legs my creature would not be able to walk or run long distant therefor it will not be able to get the food it needs.That's why my creature needs legs to survive.

The eyes are for see far away over the rocks. It is very important that my creature has good eyesight so it can spot predators from far away, see food to make sure it is stuff it can it, last the eyes help spot prey to.

The beak is for getting bugs out of the rocks. The beak is very important because it can get food like bugs out from under the rocks slimply. Without the beak the creature would starve like we would starve if we did not get what we need to eat.

The tail is to help support the legs and balance the body.
The tail make sure my creature keeps it's balance when it is running from a predator or is chasing something. If it was running from a predator and falls it would be a gonner that is why the tail is so important.

Do we have cells similar to the aliens you created? How or why not? Yes and no because we don't have tails but, our Aliens do. The aliens use their beak to get food but we don't. But we both have legs. That's why I think it is both yes and no.
Humans (and probably aliens) have cells that have special functions. What are some of these cells and what organs and systems are they a part of? Give at least three examples and be specific. (Example: Osteoclasts are cells that make up spongy bone inside of many of our bones. This is part of the skeletal system.) A mucous cell makes mucous and is part of the digestive system. Merkel cells are on your skin and are part of the nervous system. Red blood cells are part of your immune system and help you fight off disease.
1. Some of the Aliens have very good eye sight to see way better than us.
2.All of us have two leg but, Aliens can have no legs.
3.Aliens have a beak to dig in the dirt but we only have mouths.

Which Joints are Most Important?

Which joint did you choose as our most important joint? I think it is the jaw. Without the jaw we couldn't eat and you would starve to death.
Why did you choose that joint? I think the jaw is the most important joint because with out the jaw you couldn't eat or talk we would die really fast from starving.
What things would be difficult to do without that joint?
What movement can be done without the use of joints? (Example: blinking your eyes)The jaw very important because

Your joint is writing a persuasive letter to you, asking you to be kinder to it by doing (or not doing) several things. Can you write from that perspective? Can the joint be persuasive enough to get you to treat it better? Think about eating, carrying things, what you are wearing, sitting, lifting, exercising, playing sports, etc. What simple things could you do during your daily routine that would protect your joints? Signs of Exertion

What I feel:

My calf hurts. I think it is because I don't do jumping jacks a lot so I was stretching my calf into a position that was not normal for me.

I feel light headed. I think it was because my brain had a greater need for oxygen and my body needed to catch up.
My heart is beating fast. It was probably trying to get more oxygen.

What I see:

He is falling over. I think it was because he was doing too much.
He is panting. I think because he was trying to get more oxygen.
Sweating. I think because his body was trying to cool down.

What three basic things do our bodies need in order survive? We need food, water, and energy to survive.
If we exert ourselves, what are three (or more) signs that our bodies are in distress? Panting, sweating,heart beating fast.
What can we do to make these signs go away? We can sleep and rest. This is important to allow our bodies to recover.

Observing and Describing Apples.

1.It smells like a Citrus candle. I think it smells like that because it is a types of fruit and fruit smells like citrus.
2.It feels lumpy like it has little bumps on the surface. I think since it is a three d object.

Why were you able to observe so many things about your apple today? I think it was because we used tools to help us. I think it was really fun to use the tools in class.
Why is observation and description so important in science?I think it is imporant because you can learn new things.

What was the hardest part of this activity? I think the hardest part was finding ware some body parts go. it will be good to learn and hopefully fun to!
Which organs do you think you put in the right places? I think the Brain, Eyes, Heart, Lungs, Gallbladder, Bladder, Skin, Diaphragm, Kidneys, liver, spleen, Stomach. I don't know the human body that good so I will only get some right.
Which organs do you think are probably in the wrong place? Esophagus, Trachea, Pharynx, Larynx, Large intestine, Small intestine. I do not know a lot about where those are.
