Reflection:

What was the circumference at brain height (CBH) of each tree that you measured? There was one 42 cm, 68 cm, 39 cm, and 72 cm.
Convert each circumference to diameter, by dividing by 3.14 (pi). Here is why that works. They were 13 cm, 22 cm, 12 cm, 23 cm.
Based on your diameter at brain height (DBH) data, do you think the tree you measured was old and well-established, or young and newly planted? Why do you think that? I think that the tree that was 72 cm was really old but well established, the tree that was 39 cm was young and newly planted.
What is the distance of your tree to the nearest man-made structure? How could that impact the growth of the tree? We really didn't have any trees nears structures but if we did I think we could water it and be really careful.
What other observations did you make? I saw that a lot of the trees where really different some had really unique bark and the way the trees grew where really different.
What species of trees did you find at Westgate? We never got to do that but I think they where mostly oak trees.

Watery Earth- Lesson 3 Drops of Water on Different Surfaces

Prediction

1.I think it will be like a little plop and just add more water.

2.I think the leaf will get all wet and it will be boring too.

3. I think the water will soak in the dirt and the dirt will become wet.

4. I think the Gravel will Just let the water through the spaces to the bottom and the water will sit at the bottom.

5. I think the moss with pack together with water than the extra water will be at the bottom.

Actual

1.The water on water was much cooler than I thought! I loved to see it close up! The first thing that the water did was make a hole for the other water than the water comes in and joins the other water to make more water.

2. The first thing was the water didn't get the whole leaf wet it was just a bubble and when it fell of the leaf the leaf was dry.

3.My prediction is right but I think it was cool that the dirt mix's so well with the water. That is why the dirt is good for growing plants.

4. The water made the gravel change to a nice color so I think the water wash off the dirt then went to the bottom.

5. I was wrong! The water just made the moss wet and the extra went to the bottom but the water didn't pack the moss together.

Refection

1. I loved looking up close I learned a lot about what water does when it hits water. Mr. Solarz even showed us a video about water touching water but it was really slow so it was really cool!

2. I didn't know what water does when it hits a leaf. It was really cool to see what the leaf and water does when they connect.

3.The dirt was not so cool. I think I don't think it is cool is because I have looked closely at water hit dirt before so it was just like any other time.

4.I loved hoe the rocks in the gravel got cleaner so I could see there colors. After that The water just did what I thought it would do so it was okay.

5. I loved the moss but it really suprised me. I think you should look at the video and tell me what you think in a comment that would be really cool!

I found myself falling down down down. I didn't know where I was plop I was in a lake or was it an ocean? Then I found myself in red then I stared floating up towards the sky it took a long time but, I got up there in so much fog every where was I in a cloud? Then I stayed in fog for a while meeting people that where just like me. Then we got so cramped together that I couldn't breath I started falling again faster then even faster then I fell into the fastest moving river ever I was going at 100 miles per hour at lest. There was something in the way of me when I hit the branch it wouldn't let me go after we fell about 20 feet it got much slower then I started to go up in the air again not very fast this time then I hit the clouds.

1. Why is water considered a "Natural Resource?" Water is consider a natural resource because you can't make it. I think that is really cool because you can't make water out of anything! I think it would be really cool if we could find a way to make water.
2. How is water essential (required) to our survival and the survival of all living things? We couldn't live without water because our body uses it for our food to break down.

Guinea Pigs really don't use water that much I think that is because they don't think they need to be clean, don't have water guns to play with, they don't mop the floor, and they don't like to swim. I think we use water for playing and drinking most of the time but Guinea Pigs just use it for drinking.

Mars - Potential Problems - Lesson 6

I am so happy to go to Mars but, there are many things that could go wrong! I mean our muscles will get weaker and weaker so when we get back on Earth we will need to be hostibleize until our muscles get better. Also there is a very high risk of dieing because we can't breath the air. That is bad because our space suits can fail, so we would just suffacte. With that I wonder how we are going to test people if the Nikon thinks he has air that we could breath someone would have to test that out and if the air fails they would die. The thing I am most scared of is the cold it can get up to -240 F! Everything could freeze shut the doors of our houses so we couldn't get to heat and freeze to death!

1.I think man made Resources are Resources only made by man and Natural Resources are just there like you can't invite grass or anything I have up there.
2. I think water is a Natural Resource because people can't make water is was just there.
3. One of the three Natural Resources we use everyday is water we use to clean drink and many more things, the second one is the sun we use the sun for light and vidam D, the last is trees we use those to breath.

The Day I went "Surfing"

When my grandma, grandpa, dad, sister, brother and I went to Lake Michigan there where lots of big waves. I sat at the beach watching all the waves. It was really pretty, the waves going up and down, big ones, small ones, fast ones, and slow ones. After I watched the waves for about 3 seconds I said "Last one in the water is a rotten egg." Than I raced at the cold water. When I got there my feet where so cold but I didn't care I wanted to ride a wave with my tube. My dad came out to be my swimming buddy. We got where the really big waves where coming and I sat on my tube.
"Ready?" asked my dad.
"Ready!" The wave came and I was off on the tube. It felt so good to feel the wind in my face and how high up I was. It was really cool even though it was three seconds it was really fun to go 50 feet I told my dad If what just happen felt like surfing I want to surf. It was a really fun day at the beach!

Seeing

It is clear but when I put my finger in it the water magnifies my finger.

I hear a ploping sound as the water bounces off the water back into the cup.

It is cool and refreshing. The water Just flows with my finger.

Protecting Earths Resources
- Earth has many renewable resources but, more nonrenewable resources like coal, coal is made by plants.

-Coal and oil are easy to move and store.

-Solar energy does not run out but some times there is no sun light (like at night or were it is cloudy) for the solar panel to get more energy and then it will run out.

-Wind energy can't work unless there is wind.

-It is important we do everything to protect the earth's resources.
