Reflection:
- What was the circumference at brain height (CBH) of each tree that you measured? There was one 42 cm, 68 cm, 39 cm, and 72 cm.
- Convert each circumference to diameter, by dividing by 3.14 (pi). Here is why that works. They were 13 cm, 22 cm, 12 cm, 23 cm.
- Based on your diameter at brain height (DBH) data, do you think the tree you measured was old and well-established, or young and newly planted? Why do you think that? I think that the tree that was 72 cm was really old but well established, the tree that was 39 cm was young and newly planted.
- What is the distance of your tree to the nearest man-made structure? How could that impact the growth of the tree? We really didn't have any trees nears structures but if we did I think we could water it and be really careful.
- What other observations did you make? I saw that a lot of the trees where really different some had really unique bark and the way the trees grew where really different.
- What species of trees did you find at Westgate? We never got to do that but I think they where mostly oak trees.
