| We went to a Historical Reenactment at Olive the other day. At the first station, I was an example, so of course I couldn't take a picture of THAT! Some others probably did. At a station with a "tavern", we read a letter and the owner was quite amazed. We had forgotten that these people were in character. We were all a bit intimidated by the next station, where we were shown a "helping stick" by a school teacher. There was also a surveyor, a woodworker named Jeremiah, a wig maker, and a scout. At the wig maker's, one of our classmates tried on a wig. He looked hilarious, and we learned that even men and boys wore wigs! On the way home, we took a break in the bus and compared and contrasted our experiences. Some people were yelling about "Oh yeah, and I liked that..." etc. etc. All in all, it was a really fun trip. I put some of our favorite moments in the slideshow at the left. Have fun looking at it! |
