I am so happy to be here at Alcove Spring. It has clean and fresh water to drink and swim and swim in, and plenty of trees to sit down under for some shade from the hot sun. After the kids and I went in the pool for a swim we got to pick our own fresh fruits, veggies, and berries. We also made the most delicious rabbit stew that our men hunted for us a day or few earlier. After lunch we headed back in the pool to have some more fun in the cool fresh water. We took advantage of our stay at Alcove Spring, and at night it got better. We hand picked our own fresh apples and got bread and made a delicious, and warm apple cobbler. My mouth was watering, and my head was going to explode. We all got a slice of pie and it was amazing. After that we played Pom - pom - pull away and the rules are in the video. We were very thrilled with our stay.
This.. was.. very... surprising, I was very off. My prediction was that there was 70% salt water in the world, and I was off by 27.24%. Then I thought that there was 30% Freshwater in the world and I was off by 27.14%. Now I have knowledge about this unlike before because I had NO clue. It actually makes sense now because a hear on the news a lot about people suffering from not enough clean water to drink. We are fortunate enough to have Lake Michigan near us so we can get lots of clean, fresh, and purified water.
Reflection: I thought this was cool, even though it had nothing to do with the Oregon Trail. I got a LOT of good facts about Yellowstone.
Click on the image to go to its sourceI learned what to bring and what not to bring on the Oregon Trail. We also learned how much to buy such as axles if they brake. We decided that we were going to bring 6 extra axels if they brake. I thought we should bring four because it was not nesaccary to bring 6, because I had a feeling that we would not break all of the axles... they are made of steel thats why. And now I change my mind a that was smart buying six just because we can have extra axels. Also Independence Missouri has the cheapest materials so that I guess was smart.

There are two deadly predators on our way through the trail Wolves, and Coyotes. On the Oregon Trail we will have to walk through rivers, and on top of mountains. There are more then 3000 bisons. You are SUPER brave to walk on a mountain in yellow stone because you are pretty much walking on I live volcano. Some mountains in yellowstone can be almost 10000 feet tall. Some wagons are pulled by 1000 oxen. Yellowstone park actually covers 31000 square miles. Wolves and Coyotes will be harassing any annoying you the whole 2000 mile journey. The Coyote will want to sneak in and steal a sheep or a mule. The dogs will be whimpering, and annoying. The Oregon trail is mostly wide open prairie. The large wagons went in a straight line, and with smaller ones the wagon master might have gone a different way. The wheels made very deep tracks so they had to make different routes, even if it was through a lot of mud they still had to. They have canines and sharp molars, unlike us we don't have canines. our incisors help bite the food off. A wolf could eat 80 quarter pound burgers in 10 minutes. In winter wolves look a little different in the winter because they have a different coat. SKYPE 2Click the picture to go to its source.
