Our next Twitter chat will take place on Monday, July 22nd from 8:00-9:00 p.m. CST. The chat will once again be moderated by Paul Solarz (@PaulSolarz) and the author, Dave Burgess (@BurgessDave), will do his best to attend as always. We will be discussing the last section of the book during this final chat. We will be discussing the following questions on July 22nd:
- "Striving for greatness is the ultimate act of unselfishness (pg. 146)." How do you strive for greatness in your profession?
- "Don't hang around negative people; they will sap your super powers as sure as kryptonite (pg. 150)." How do you stay positive?
- The best way to learn a new skill is to teach it. Let's teach our students about @BurgessDave's ideas in order to learn them ourselves! "The fear of failure (pg. 154)" impedes/halts progress - How will you teach students to be risk-takers (& become one yourself)?
- "Take the first step (pg. 158)" despite worries - How will you teach students to take initiative (& how will you model it)?
- "Perfectionism can paralyze (pg. 158)." How will you teach students to think big picture (& not stress little things yourself)?
- "Time is our most precious commodity (pg. 159)." How will you teach students to prioritize tasks (& not waste time yourself)?
- "We crave the approval of others (pg. 160)." How will you teach students to filter criticism (& not be sensitive yourself)?
- "Great teaching, like a fight, can't be scripted (pg. 173)." How do you prevent programs/styles/initiatives from limiting you?
- "Where do I start (pg. 153)?" In order to be a pirate next year, where do you plan to start? What changes will you make?
