Our next Twitter chat will take place on Monday, July 1st from 8:00-9:00 p.m. CST. The outstanding Chris Kesler (@iamkesler) will be your moderator! You can read the whole book before then, or just read through page 71. (At the bottom of this entry is the weekly breakdown of pages to read for each chat, if you choose to follow it.) We will be discussing the following questions on July 1st:
- "I want entering my room to feel like entering another world (pg. 56)." How can we transform our rooms into irresistible places?
- "When embarking on any journey, choosing the destination is a critical first step (pg. 57)." Why do teachers need a clear vision?
- "Transform your class into something irresistible to your students (pg. 60)." Do you have any lessons you could sell tickets for?
- Which is better & why? A teacher w/enthusiasm & weak technique or a teacher w/brilliant strategies, punching the clock (pg. 66).
- "Unlike passion, enthusiasm can be faked! Act enthusiastic (pg. 69)!" How do you show effort & enthusiasm to your students?
- Some teachers see 99% of students engaged (but 1% off) & feel like failures (pg. 70). How can we avoid being 2 tough on ourselves?
- "Infect your lessons and everything you do with enthusiasm and then watch it spread (pg. 71)." How will you do this next year?
- 5 minutes left. Does anyone have any additional thoughts that they would like to discuss tonight?
