In class today we were testing how our sensory nerves. We held up a plastic sheet and anther person threw a piece of balled up paper at the plastic sheet. I reacted by flinching when the ball of paper was thrown at me. This would have protected me if the sheet wasn't there because I would have ducked to avoid getting hit. In a previous science project we had to catch rulers to test our muscle memory. I think the nervous system didn't react the same way in the two experiments because, In the ruler experiment you had to catch the rule before it touched the ground and have contact with the ruler. In this experiment we had to see how our nerves reacted when the paper ball was thrown and humans natural flinch or try to avoid the ball or thing to protect themselves. This reflex is called

In Mr.Solarz' class we had global lit.circles. My partner and I read the book candy wars.In Candy Wars the main characters are James and Emily. They are brother and sister and they get sucked into a portal to another world (the world of Tooth fairies and candy monsters)! The trick is that they got sucked in at different times so end up being completely against each other. But which side is good? You will see that a sibling may do anything to win. On Wednesday January 30th 2013 my class and I went on a field trip to the field museum in Chicago. The first part of our day we learned how the earth was created and how animals and plants were created.I thought it was worth taking the day of of school because I always had questions on how are earth came to be, so it answered most of my questions about earth. I think mars might turn out like earth because it's a red planet and before life on earth there was a bunch of volcanic eruptions that made the atmosphere poisonous and the air red. Since mars air is poisonous it might turn out like earth. The most interesting thing I learned was that the atmosphere was poisonous and that there was absolutely no life! In the afternoon we met a scientists that studied metorites. he told us all about the different types and how long ago they landed and we got to touch one! This was totally worth taking the day of for because I always had a lot of questions about space and the scientist, Jim, answered most of them. The most interesting thing I learned was that over the years we have been detecting more and more meteorites close to Earth. We should invest money on studying meteorites because we could learn more about whats out there in space. In class today we started learning the basics about the respiratory system for example, breathing in air and having it transported to your lungs. We tested our breathing by sucking air in with our mouth through straws. We walked in place, sat still ,and did jumping jacks while breathing through the straw.Doing the jumping jacks was the hardest because I needed to breath in more air but the straw only allowed me to breathe in so much. Since that happened it caused me to breath faster so I could take short breaths and still get enough air to my lungs.Next we breathed through really thin straws but we only sat still because we didn't want any one to pass-out.I thought breathing through the thin straws was really hard because,I couldn't get a lot of air through the straw and it caused me to take several breaks so I wouldn't get so dizzy. In conclusion your breathing changes depending on what you do.So if your running you will be taking big breaths because you take in fast breaths when
In class we are doing something called passion time.During passion time we read or do our passion. Weather it's doing something on the computer or your passion could be reading. The book I'm reading is called Rangers Apprentice.(to your left)It's the fourth book in the series. For my passion I wanted to learn about the constellations and the Northern lights.
There is a pattern in my data, the amount of squeezes that I did were increasing then decreasing. My partner's data was a little similar to mine his went up and down to but they mostly decreased. These patterns in my graph could indicate that your muscles in your fingers or hand can recover a little quickly and sometimes it takes a while.I think my results were reliable but I could make them more reliable by counting a little faster with my fingers to make the numbers more accurate.
