Today in class we created voting polls.

In class today we created a Rube Goldburg. That is a type of invention that is really complicated just to do an easy thing like turning on a lightbulb. We had a lot of random ideas to make this thing. First we had marbles fall down a ramp and then they hit a bouncy ball witch landed on a fan button.Then the fan turned on and blew a balloon holding a wieght across the room. Then the balloon popped on a nail.That sent the wieght down on a spring then the wieght bounced on to a ramp and slides down the ramp.Then the wieght holds a wire on a batterie and electricity goes through the wire making the light bulb turn on.My partener and I only drew it out on a piece of paper and typed the energy transfers on the computer(shown to your left).We did not actually make the invention just like the rest of the class.I still had a really fun time!         

In class today we learned why leaves change colors and how.Here are the reasons,
The green colors come from a pigment called chlorophyll.The yellow and orange pigments are on the leaves already but only show when the green starts fading.Red colors come from a pigment called anthocyanins. This pigment starts showing after the green starts fading.When leaves are brown that is the trees waste.(To humans that is the thing we put in the toilet).

In this Science and Social studies unit we are making our own debates and elections for our "presidents". We made advertisements such as cards,lawn signs,bumper stickers,t.v. comercials,radio adds,buttons,and posters.Then we put most of it on to a glog(shown above). We were put into different candidate parties. I am working for candidate Ryan M because,I am not running for president.I'm in the Democratic party.It is a very fun experience making all of the advertisement. But I didn't do it all by my self.There were other people in my group.I'm hoping Ryan will win the election.It was also cool kind of being in the position of the real candidates and staff because now we now being president isn't just being in charge and making rules.  

    Today we went to a historical reenactment at Olive Mary - Stitt.It was quite fun.We learned many things like , wig makers are also, teeth puller, shaver, leech worker ,and wig powderer.
    Everybody had different jobs. For example there was a wig maker, a teacher, ranger, and also a scout. A wig maker makes wigs for the men and women.For example, they are often made of human hair, goat hair, horse hair, sheep hair.
    We also met a German wood crafter named Zebalia. He showed us some of his tools to make wood items. For example, he showed us a wooden bowl he made.We also met some other people there was a seamstress,a trapper,a scottish soldier,a tavern owner,a huntsman,a captain,another man who measured distances(last person not shown below).

In class today we used different matierals to wrap around a water bottle.Then when we had all our matierals wrapped around the bottle we put it in a gallon sized plastic bag.Then we filled it with hot water and stuck a tempature prob in it.we also put another in the cold water tub.To see if our matierals were good insulators.We watched the data table to see if the hot water stayed the same or got colder.Our water stayed the same.That means we chose good insulators.Then we saved the data table to show you what we mean.(The table is shown above.)

Today was our principal's 50th birthday!We sent him online cards to show how much we appreciate him.He has done many wonderful things to help our school.For example he has let us use ipads for school and he also lets us use computers almost every day at school.Sending him a online card is being in the 21st century.It is 21st century because the card actually moves (not in this picture because it's a screen shot).You could send a picture to some one that says happy birthday and it does nothing at all but these cards that we are using move!

In class we did a mad libs since we  finished taking tests about all the parts of speech.Mad Libs can help you remember parts of speech because,it has you type in different parts of speech so it can complete sentences to make a funny paraghaph.If your having trouble knowing(for example)an adjictive it gives you examples that you can click on.(the last sentence you just read can only happen when you are playing mad libs on line).
