leaves change color because when winter comes the tree will die if th leaves don't fall of so there are orange and yellow leaves have a pigments in them which brakes down into tiny peices which make he leaf show the red and yellow. For red a different tipe of pigment that brakes down even more and that makes the leaf turn into a dark almost brown red. And then for brown is all the wast in the leaf and that is when the leaf falls down or at least some times. And green is where the leaf is healthy and coallects food and sun light which is called photosynthesis.
