⬇Check Out My Reflection On My Podcast!!⬇ ⬆Check My Podcast Out First Though!⬆ Today we recorded our W.E.X. story that we wrote, and put on our blog (check out podcast above). I thought the hardest part was reading without studdering (or biting your tongue >.<). I realized that if you want to sound like a pro at your story, you have to use emotions, like instead of saying "wow.." you want to say "WOW!" (If it is supposed to be enthusiastic).
Did you know that the first Arbor day took place on April 10, 1872 in Nebraska (because I didn't)? Arbor day was the idea of J. Sterling Morton. Throughout his career, Morton improved his agricultural techniques in his state and throughout the U.S.A. when he served as President Cleveland's Secretary of Agriculture. But the most important thing he left to U.S.A. , was Arbor Day.
Now some of you might be wondering what arbor means. Well, arbor means a tree, or a beam. That is exactly why thank trees, and plant trees on Arbor day A few days ago, Mr. Solarz took us outside for Earth Day, to walk and take pictures of our beautiful Mother Nature. I thought that seeing all the things Westgate, I realized that I was missing out. The pictures that me and Erin took, were cool, because we each took what we thought was cool. Erin took a picture ofa pine tree from the bottomm, and I thought it was cool to see that Erin took a picture from an unusual point of view!
I was surprised when I saw all different kinds of buds everywhere!! Some were fuzzy, while some were smooth, some big, some small (some were really long!), and some, wer red, some were white. I was happy to be at school to see the beauty of nature!!!
The body of a camel is so amazingly adapted to survival in the desert that it can with stand even the harshest of desert climates. Their biggest strength has to be their ability to survive without food and water for long periods of time. This unique ability stems from their body being able to store fat in their humps and water in the lining of their stomachs. These stores can be used in times of need which is ideal in deserts where both food and water are extremely scarce. Most people think that the humps on the camel store water, but it doesn't. Camels need water to survive in the desert. They can survive without it for a month or two. Maybe even three or more!!! Camels need water to bathe, too. They might be in the desert a lot, but they do bathe! 5 ways that living things need water 1. One way that living things need water is to stay clean. Humans use water to wash cloths, dishes their body and teeth, and animals, such as cat related ones use their tongue to groom. Sylvia is on their tongue which is mostly water.
2. Fish live in water, go to the bathroom in water, and lay their eggs water. Fish do practically everything in water! 3. A human body can live without food for weeks, but it needs water every few days. 4. Animals like dogs like to play in water. 5. Kids need exercise, and a good way of exercising is in the pool! -There was space in America for people to own land
