One day, an innocent drop of water named Fred went swimming in the river. He swam with all the other drops of water, and they all seemed to be going somewhere in the exact same direction. He followed along with the other droplets when he noticed some flying into the air. They looked like cartoon animal heads.
    Suddenly, Fred felt the breeze and began to get cold. "Where is the warm, wet touch of my friends' skin?" he thought as he felt himself slowly turning upside down. He stuck out his feet and pushed them in circles until they became useless piles of water. Then everything turned black.
     When Fred opened his eyes, he felt something cushiony and bouncy beneath his feet. Drops covered the thing all around. Suddenly, a grey puff of mist came out of nowhere and started coughing, "Sorry I cannot greet you in better—ACHOO!—condition. This is Cloud 9. ACHOO! Cloud 8 is to your left, and Cloud 10 is the other way. Enjoy your—ACHOO!—stay!"
       Then, the so-called cloud started to tremble. The surface they stood on broke. Drops fell out of the cloud at hurtling speeds. Fred knew he was gonna die. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he screamed. The earth fast approached.
     "Splash!" Fred opened his eyes. He was alive! He was so relieved to find he had landed in the river, swimming just like a couple short hours ago.

    There are two main types of water buffalo. One is the river buffalo, and the other is a swamp buffalo. Water buffalo will refer to both collectively in this article. Water buffaloes use water as part of their habitats. The remainder is usually also a wet area. River buffaloes are usually found in deep water, whereas you will see swamp buffalo in muddy holes, covering themselves in mud. They need specific types of water to help them control their body heat. Water buffalo also use water to groom themselves. They rely heavily on the water availability in their area. They eat only plants, such as grass, and some aquatic plants as well. Overall, water buffalo are very similar to humans as far as water usage goes.

• I drink water at many parts of the day, like snacks and meals.
• I eat water-filled foods such as soup.
• I use water to clean certain foods before eating, like fruit.
• Some foods are cooked in water, like spaghetti.
  

How I Use Water For Keeping Clean

• I take a bath/shower using water most nights.
• I use water to wash my hands before eating, after using the bathroom, etc.
• I use water to wash my face.
• I use water to brush my teeth.
• I use water to make my hair look nice.
  

How I Use Water For Caring for Pets

• I make sure the pets have water for drinking.
• I use water to clean a pet.
• I put pets like fish in water to resemble a habitat for animals like fish.
• I use water from places like the ocean to let the pet play!
  

How I Use Water For Playing

• I swim in water.
• I use water for toys (Slip N' Slide, water balloons, sprinkler, etc.)
• I go to places that do fun things with water like water parks.
  

How I Use Water For Other Things

• I use water for doing the dishes.
• I use water for laundry.
• I use water to help care for my baby sister (sanitizing bottles, making bottles) 
• I use water for sewage.

The most common water uses were drinking water, cooking with water, and the laundry.
The most unusual water uses were surfing and mopping the floor.

This is my story about how Frita is a persistent character in The Liberation of Gabriel King.

    One day, when I was on vacation in Daytona Beach, Florida, we went to the beach. The hotels had limits on the areas of the beach that you were allowed on, but even so, it was a big, vast ocean and a long stretch of sand. There is pretty much no limit on what you can do in the ocean. I always play in the ocean absolutely every single day we go to the beach and I love it! We never go much farther than where my feet touch the sand, and sometimes, it's chest-deep for me. I would never let even the tiniest drop of water touch my head. My sister and cousin would play with me, and they didn't like water on their heads, either.
    One time, me, my sister, and my cousin all went to play in the ocean. We went deeper and deeper and deeper. Way past their usual max. Almost past mine. We played in the water and jumped over the waves crashing across our chests.
    Then a really big wave came! "I love these!" I thought. And I did, because an ocean spray on the face is nice sometimes. This was the kind of wave that would usually cause my sister and cousin to sputter, "Uh.... BYE!" and run screaming to the shore. They stayed perfectly fine, though. The wave raced towards us. Practically in sync, they dived into the wave. My awe nearly caused the wave to take me under.
    That was my breaking point. I lowered my humungous goggle facemask, and waited for another giant wave. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT let my sister and cousin do something I couldn't. Game on. The wave was coming. My head was lowering. No turning back. I felt the cool water envelope my body. A beautiful turquoise sensation covered the lenses of my goggles. I took a big breath of air and screamed, "I am SO doing that again!"

What I learned from "Changing Weather:"

• "Sea breezes", also called conviction currents happen because of temperature differences between land and sea. The hotter one gets that cool breeze.
• Jet streams are bands of wind caused by convection currents, but come from higher points in the atmosphere.
• Air masses are what air uses to move. They form in huge bodies with varying amounts of water vapor. They are moved by wind.
  
• Fronts happen from opposing air masses meeting. They can change the weather. A cold front (cold air mass pushing up a warm one) cause rain. Warm fronts (a fast warm air mass sliding over a cold one) makes it rain long and steady.
• Thunderstorms are caused by upward-moving moisture, which forms icy clouds with water vapor.
• Tornadoes are caused by winds of different speeds and directions forming a spinning tube of wind. This touches the ground and becomes a tornado.
• Hurricanes are formed by condensed clouds of water vapor. These release energy, creating wind to whip the clouds in a forward-moving circle.
• Barometers measure air pressure by moving a dial when there is a changed pressure.
• Anemometers have cups that spin when wind blows.
• Hygrometers measure air moisture. Some can use horsehair. This grows and shrinks to correspond to changes.
• Radar works by sending out energy. This can bounce back off raindrops. Measuring this bounced-back energy tells what a storm is doing.

The main goal of the mission is to find out if there is life on Mars. They have found some clues that may suggest life, but they want people to go and check. One example is a meteor that bounced off Mars before hitting Earth. It was small, but showed some parts of rock only living things like bacteria could create.
