It is very difficult to get drinking water that is clean. Earths water is 97.24 salt water.Wait we can't drink salt water. Less than three percent is drinkable. And it is not all where we can get it. Most of it is in the great lakes. 0.001 is how much water is int he air.0.01 is surface water. All the water in the ground is 0.61%. There is 2.14% ice water.
Reflection: I was surprised and I also wasn't surprised because I knew that it was more than 95% salt water and that there where barley any fresh water because first of all I read a book about it and it told me. Plus I was thinking about it and I knew that oceans could be as deep as 15,000 feet so in about 1 mile of ocean and the deepest part of the ocean in square miles would probably equal the amount of water in all the great lakes because those are only like 200 feet deep or so. But the thing that surprised me was that there is 2.14% ice water out of 2.761% fresh water. I thought that the most would be sky water because that takes all the water from the ocean and lakes and everything and it showers down. And think about it, if there are clouds all over the world wouldn't they be filled with water. Well that was not right and that is what surprised me the most. Notes (For Yellowstone)
Reflection: This was a very interesting Skype because I learned a lot about tribes and interesting facts like natural spring and volcanoes. This was much different than the other Skype because she told use about natural things not to much about animals. When she was talking about the animals I thought that was really fun because then I learned about how they happen and what we should watch out for off the trail. Then she told us about hot springs and that they can kill you because they are over 200 degrees hot. So that is very scary but I didn't know that and we could have died from that. So she told use many things that we could have died from on the trail and I am very surprised that those thing would happen. So this was very fun and hope I could Skype with her again.

Reflection: After the second Skype I learned even more about the trail. I thought that the wagons trailed alone. But it turns out that the stayed in big packs of wagons. Also they would run into mosquito that would be as big as humming birds. They way they would defend against these things were by using buffalo fat. Sometimes there would be animals charging. You want to tell me what the do. Well they will shot them right away. But the most interesting thing was that people would kill badgers on the trail. I did think this but I was still surprised because I didn't think they had to much meat and didn't have enough to be worth killing. So that was pretty interesting. But overall this man told me so many interesting facts that I had almost three pages of Google docs pages of notes. So if I could again I would thank him for talking to me and hope I could do it again. 2 Skype!!!!!! |
