What is different between the 2 websites?

I will experiment with Scratch, and look at other people's programs to help me with my final Khan academy program.

Khan Academy and Scratch are very different. Khan Academy uses JavaScript, while Scratch uses a system of building blocks.
One of the things the 2 websites have in common is that the more complicated the code, the cooler the program.

I will try to get my program public on Khan Academy, so tons of people can see it.

Reflection:
    I learned a lot about Scratch, and even some things about Khan Academy.
    Programming is the building blocks of all websites and apps (no pun intended), and it was kind of cool to learn about the different languages of programming.
    Programming is a world within a world. People speak different languages, and do different things sometimes, but it all comes together very well.

This was an informative project, I have used Scratch and I' m interested in teaching more code writing! I'd like to share this with my fourth graders to inspire them!

Thanks! Khan Academy has programming talk-throughs on the website that have helped me learn a lot about coding in the programs I make.

I have also discovered Scratch recently and tried to discover more about it. Scratch was slightly confusing to me at first, because my prior experience on Khan Academy uses a very different coding language.

Hi Julia!

Thanks for sharing this. My own kids are just getting started with Scratch over the vacation and we have used Khan Academy a few times also.

I'm a teacher-librarian and am planning to teach screencasting using Jing or Screencast-O-Matic. What program did you use for the screencast?

I have had a lot of fun doing this project. I have learned that some people who use Khan Academy do not know that you can do computer programming on the website.

When I do screencasting, I use QuickTime Player for Mac. I am not familiar with either of those programs.

I really like your project. I think that you did a great job explaining the steps in the video. I liked how you added a lot of detail and explained everything so that if someone wants to learn how to use Scratch they won't be confused. I think that it is really cool that you can do something like that with only a few steps. I liked seeing what you learned like Khan Academy and Scratch are very different. Khan Academy uses JavaScript, while Scratch uses a system of building blocks and one of the things the 2 websites have in common is that the more complicated the code, the cooler the program. Great job.
