When we did the experiment, we noticed that the cold ice bath affected the warm water when it was in the cylinder with the alluminum foil and the alluminum foil was surrounding the plastic bottle. Then we figured out that that the cold ice bath really affected the really warm water with the alluminum surrounding the plastic cup.
During winter, there is not enough light or water for photosynthesis. The trees will rest, and live off the food they stored during the summer. They begin to shut down their food-making factories. The green chlorophyll disappears from the leaves. As the bright green fades away, we begin to see yellow and orange colors. Small amounts of these colors have been in the leaves all along. We just can't see them in the summer, because they are covered up by the green chlorophyll. Leaves are nature's food factories. Leaves are nature's food factories. They take a gas called carbon dioxide from the air. Plants use sunlight to turn water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and glucose. Oxygen is a gas in the air that we need to breathe. Glucose is a kind of sugar. Plants use glucose as food for energy and as a building block for growing. The way plants turn water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and sugar is called photosynthesis. That means "putting together with light. A chemical called chlorophyll helps make photosynthesis happen. Chlorophyll is what gives plants their green color. As summer ends and autumn comes, the days get shorter and shorter. This is how the trees "know" to begin getting ready for winter This is my glogster. If you hover over Glogster EDU and click VIEW FULL SIZE then you can see the full size.
On our field trip to a Historical reenactment we learned A LOT about very different things. So, one person we met was a classroom teacher named Katherine Caird who I thought had very different things about her teaching than Mr.Solarz like she liked students who were quiet which was considered "good" children. But the first person we went to was David-The war master who told us about the laws an dhow if you were Irish you were treated better than the ones who were not.Later we went to listen to Joesph O'Fallen who is a scout a trader with the local tribes.
Today in science we were supposed to cover are plastic bottles in insulators. The catch is that we had to bring are own insulators in from home. First, we had to put the insulators items on the plastic bottles. Then we drew the lairs of the insulators that is on the bottle in our soft cover notebook. When we finished that, we put the bottle in the water. When the data collection was done, we made this blog. Our finished time was an awesome insulator because the water was hot when we touched it. I don't think we could do better.
