Today we learned about how heat transfers work in science. A heat transfer works by putting somthing warm near something cold. When the warm object gets close to the cold object the warm object transfers heat to the cold object and tries to make it the same temperature by giving heat to the cold thing. We then did a heat transfer of our own by putting a cup of warm water in a bucket of cold water to see if the water would change temperature. We then used temperature probes and put them in each of the cups of water and made a graph of the warm water transfering heat and losing heat trying to make the cold water warmer. I was suprised to find out that on the graph when our cold water and warm water temperatures almost were the same the warm water temperature went up. But, suprising enough, the colder water finally was warmer than the warm water. This week we learned about geting the average of centemeters high a ball bounces ,for exemple,my group used a ping pong ball and a basket ball. The basket ball didn't bounce as high as the ping pong ball and it was alot harder to experement with than the ping pong ball.
my first few weeks in fith grade were fun, sortove exept for homework. I like the classroom and the earn time thing.
I just don't like that every body gives all the chair pushing in work to me! I like who i have in my class all lot! And i love the I learned quite a bit about political parties in class today. Here are some of the highlights:
