- Passionate: Passion for teaching, learning, and children.
- Strong work ethic: A hard-worker who is willing to dedicate large amounts of their time to their profession.
- Easy-going and fun: A personality that is welcoming, easy-going, and doesn't take himself too seriously - someone who others enjoy being around.
- Striving for excellence: An interest in collaborating critically with peers in order to improve instruction, has a collaborative mindset, but competes to be the best they can be.
- Resilient: Ability to bounce back from negative pressure and criticism from administration, staff, parents, and students.
- Leader, Risk-Taker: Someone who will respectfully challenge the status-quo and blaze new trails.
- Understanding by Design (UbD): Understands backwards planning for Big Ideas & Enduring Understandings with an emphasis on integrating subjects and 21st Century skills.
- Best Practices: A strong pedagogical background with emphasis on PBL and/or student-centered authentic learning. Can talk the talk (professional jargon) and walk the walk (experiences that will translate well).
- Professional Growth Mindset: Someone who imagines earning a Masters degree, National Board Certification, and/or a Doctorate degree in the near future. Sees a strong value in being connected to a professional learning communty (PLC) and loves to learn.
- Technophile: Enjoys technology, picks techie things up quickly, and can communicate that knowledge to others clearly and enthusiastically with modesty.
Upon reflection, these are the ten most important skills/attributes I would want in a new hire today (Elementary School): Here are some resources that I have gathered that might relate to this topic:

I would agree with the qualities that you espouse in your post. One thing I might add would be reflective practitioner. I would like a new hire to take the time to reflect upon their practice in a meaningful way. If I was a principal looking for a new hire, I would also look toward people who have experience in the classroom.
