(1) Explain why you think America won the Revolutionary War.  Use ideas from our class discussion, Liberty's Kids, and any other sources you've used to learn about this topic.

(2) After our tug-of-war simulation, (1) write about how each metaphor in the simulation represented something in history (e.g. America would get a prize if they won but England would not because America got their freedom when they won & England would not have gotten anything new), (2) write about how America won the war based on evidence from this experience.

(3) Upload a photo from the Daily Photo Journal from our tug-of-war simulation.

(1) Go to our daily photo journal and drag a copy of your Rube Goldberg drawing and graphic organizer to your desktop.

(2) Create a blog entry with the title above.

(3) Drag a Column into your blog entry & make it 2-columns wide.

(4) Drag your images into the blog entry with the drawing on the left and the graphic organizer on the right.

(5) Drag the column width so that the image and the graphic organizer are the same height (see below).

(6) Click on the "Lightbox" on each image so people can see it bigger.

(7) Follow the directions in the captions for each picture.  (The left one tells you to write something, while the right one you can just copy and paste if it is true for you).

(8) Write a reflection at the bottom of the page answering the questions listed below.

Summarize your experience at the Historical Reenactment by writing about what you learned, the connections you made to your experience in 1775 Boston, and what you liked or disliked.  Try to show me how valuable of an experience this was. If you write "in character" (as an apprentice visiting Illinois) it will possibly be more fun!

Stay in character - you are you, but you are an apprentice in 1775, Boston.  You have traveled out to Illinois to meet these people and learn more about what life was like in this part of the world. 

Write about meeting your character (the one listed above) for the first time.  What are they like?  What was he or she doing?  What did you learn from them?  Create a story about your first experience with them.  You'll be spending more time with them tomorrow on our field trip!

Reflection: 

I found it amazing that a 25-watt incandescent bulb will last 2500 hours!  That seems like a very long time!  Especially, when I compare it to a 100-watt incandescent bulb that lasts 750 hours.

I was surprised to discover that a 100-watt incandescent bulb gives off about 7 times more light than a 25 watt incandescent bulb!  It only seemed like four or five times more.
