We decided to go home, I know this trip wasn't a success but I hope the next people who visit Mars use some of are tools we have left behind. I personally want to go back and try again and make sure we have enough water with us. I will never forget this awesome adventure! Anyway, on the way home we thought that it was going to be 1 week but it turned out to be 10 minutes! We decided to use the extra fuel we did not use on Mars to make the rocket go faster. As we were in the rocket it was going CRAZY! My personal opinion is that the captain had no idea what she was doing. All of a sudden, a horn went off and it kept repeating the word "Alert!" Everyone was panicking and all of are lives depended on the captain. I know I was going CRAZY and yet I still had to serve food to feed everyone. I still have my life alert button but I don't know if it still works because the doctor is on the ship experiencing the same as everyone else. Now I can't imagine what the captain feels like. We tried to contact nasa, that we are landing but sadly we are in the middle of some random land in the middle of the US. Soon after we got there some people pulled up in a wagon and asked if we should move west with them. To be continued at home.
We have been suffering a lot without water and I mean a lot! I have teamed up with Nabili Ngoumba and we have came up with two ideas, the first one was to collect the water from the plants. We are useing a hydroponics system so, there is no soil and the plants are growing in water. We decided to let the water evaporate from the plants and the stream running in the system. Then, it could run down the wall of the greenhouse into a gutter to catch it. Another thing Nabili and I have came up with would be to put a solar oven around the creater and a tarp on top to have the water inside it or under it evaporate then run down the sides into a gutter like the greenhouse. I am nearly going to faint this is so hard, at least I have my life alert button. I hope everyone...
We just took off! I can't describe how I felt as the rocket was shooting off and on the way to my great adventure. I guess I felt sad, proud, and very excited at the same time.
On the rocket is a once in a life time experience. It has been busy for me because I am the chef and everyone has to eat. It was strange to cook for people that I don't know to well, but that was okay because that is kind of what I did at the soup kitchen. I also thought it was hard to sleep because the ride isn't as smooth as you think. Thanks to Dong Ling some nights aren't as bad. I have been doing a lot and I mean A LOT of cooking. Thanks to the farmer because she has been giving me some fresh food she has grew. I also have been talking to people in my free time and trying to get to know them better. I would like to try to skype my family too. Everyone is sooooo nice and I hope they feel the same way about me. I am very excited to be traveling to Mars. I can't wait to meet all the different people and their traditions they celebrate in their home town. I am also sad to leave my family for such a long time. I hope that they will be okay without me. My kids are sad I am leaving but proud that I got the oppertunity to go. I just can't wait one more second!
I can't wait to work with Nabili Ngoumba. Nabili is a farmer and I am a cook so I can't wait to work with her. I hope she feels the same way about me. I also think I will work with Kristin Gola, the transpertaion specialist. She will help me with the transpertation tubes for the food. I wanted to join the space project because I knew that I am not to bad of a cook and I thought it would be a once in a lifetime chance and I couldn't say no to that. |
