I never thought that time travel existed, let alone I would actuallybe able to travel back in time!
It all started with how we ran out of water. We had to get home with the water we had left on the ship before we ran out all the way. So I guess the pilot kind of panicked and went way too fast, about the speed of light, and so I think we sort of set two universal records: Fastest machine ever, and first people ever to go back in time! We're thinking it's about the year 1848, And all we could see for miles was prarie grass, like that one spot in Wisconsin where you can sit and it does exactly the same thing. Fear was taking over, and none of us knew what to do. At all whatsoever. And we all had near heart attacks when wagons appeared. Covered wagons. WITH PEOPLE IN THEM!!!!!!!
WE WERE SAVED!!! But then we almost fainted- these were the pioneer days and so we were basically stuck in the middle of now where with nothing but these 19th century To guide us!  And what will  happen  to our selves in our  time?  And  what has happened to the space/time continium?  HOW WILL WE GET BACK? 

    Okay, I think that right about now is the time I'm going to really start getting extremely worried about living on Mars! It's absolutely terrible- we have run out of water!  We all have started franticaly, desperatly, searching for a way to preserve and find more water.  We, in spite of our franticness, have found a few pretty good ideas. The first, the one that will save us the most water (about 50% of what we need), is, quite frankly, a bit of some thing that might, slightly make you want to stop drinking our water.  We will have to extract the water from our waste. The food comitee (which consists of me and Nicoletta Inazzo) have also come up with two ideas- melting a crater or two, and collecting the transpiration from our plants in the green house.  Which, combined, only produces about, maybe 15% of what we need.  If we are not able to survive, we might have to go back to Earth. It would feel like failure if we couldn't survive even a year. Well, I'll get more news next time.....if there is one.

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Though they say a picture is worth a thousand words, it is nothing compared to the real thing.  The Earth rise is absolutley breath-taking!  I have always wondered what it would be like to be inside the space ship that had fire swirling around it as it was pushed off Earth against the gravitational field. And now I know it is Amazing.
    Though getting everything ready was nerve-racking, it was worth it. (this is going to be continued, I had to go)

    Though I am very exited to be a part of this amazing project, I will be very sad to leave my home (let alone Earth) and my family.  But this is an amazing oppurtunity that I didn't think would be a good idea to pass. I do think that I will be spending a lot of time with the cook, for it is my responsiblity to try to find a way to grow things on Mars.  Then the cook will make food from what I grow. I think we will all have to be okay with being partially vegetarian, for we will be eating mostly plants.
    Another thing I'm wondering about- being from Swaziland, I am used to warm temperatures.  And I hear it is very cold on Mars.  I hope I am able to adapt.
    Since we are all from different countries, we will all be speaking different languages.  Since I study Latin, and some languages are derived from Latin, It will help when communicating with the group.
    I was talking with the Indonesian nurse with some difficulty.  But we managed.  (I am pretty sure) She was saying that the americans had sent a space ship to the moon before, called Appollo 13 and the people on it almost died because something went wrong some where along the way.  That reminds me how dangerous this will be.
    I did go to see the space ship we are going in.  It is absolutely enormous!  It is as luxurious as a cruise ship, too!  I look forward to staying in it.  But the most wonderful feature (in my opinion) is the greenhouse that will be installed once we get there!
    Well, this will be very interesting. Can't wait to go!
