Protecting Earths Resources - Earth has many renewable resources but, more nonrenewable resources like coal, coal is made by plants. -Coal and oil are easy to move and store. -Solar energy does not run out but some times there is no sun light (like at night or were it is cloudy) for the solar panel to get more energy and then it will run out. -Wind energy can't work unless there is wind. -It is important we do everything to protect the earth's resources. 1. There goals are to see if there is life on Mars also if you can survive on Mars.
We just learned about if the world is 100 people. I learn some really sad but amazing facts. People all from all over the world. 60 people are from Asia, 15 people are from Africa, 11 from Europe, 8 from South America, 5 from the U.S. + Canada, and 1 from Australia. There are also a lot of different languages. I was really sad to hear that 700 dollars a year (2 dollars a day) with that you can't have a home or go out to eat or anything that we do today in everyday life. Also what made me upset was when I found out that there was only 10% of rich people. The others can't pay for what they need. It really upset me that a lot of people don't have what they need to survive. I think a cool fact is there is 31 sheep, 23 cows, bulls, and oxen, 15 pigs, 3 camels, 2 horses, and 700 chickens! I think that is so cool! 700 chickens really suprised me! I also really sad because 14% of the people can't read when they are old enough to read. Also are popultion is incresing more every year so we will have to many people and not a lot of food and water for people. Right now we live good and long lives but I think they are going to get shorter as we have less and less of the things we need an more air poulition. It makes me really sad that every 30 seconds someone dies from mallariea. I think I am so lucky that we have medicen! It was really amazing to see what the world was like with 100 people!
There was a light in the darkness. "What was it?" I asked. It wasn't normal to see that bright of a light in my dark world, not normal at all. Every day I used to sit at my window hoping light would come in. I was so tired sitting hoping for light just a little sliver. Way before that when I was five I looked out the window every day until one of those day there was nothing but, darkness. I tired to see what there were doing to my home but, I couldn't. Then there was on more second of red light. "What?"
1. Can you feel it when your pupils dilate? No. I think I can't feel it because there is not a lot of nerves so you can't feel it. I think that one of the reasons why people created contacts like they did is so it would be less painful when you put your contact in or take it out.
2. Do you have any control over your pupils when they dilate? We don't have any control. I think we don't have any control because if we forgot to make our pupils smaller or bigger it could cause instant blindness, like if we had control of our heart and we forgot to pump blood through our body we would be dead, so I think it is good that we don't have control. 3. What do we call this when a reflex happens without our control? 4. Why do our pupils get bigger in the dark and smaller in the light? They get bigger when you can't see (when your in the dark). They do this because your eyes want to see so they try to let more light in so we can see what we are doing and where we are going. 5. How does this reflex protect our eyes? Like I said on question 2 if the reflex doesn't kick in it could cause instant blindness. If your in the dark you would not be able to see a thing and that can be hurtful too.
