I had a ton of fun doing the Skype with Mr. Chapman, and I learned a lot. Who knew that yellowstone had it's own canyon, and it is 20 miles long! That really surprised me. I also was surprised when I found out that there were some wagons that could hold 1,000 people. I can't even imagine how big those must be. And I feel bad for kids who had to wear will sweaters when it is really hot out. Not to mention that they also have to walk tens of miles while they are wearing them. I also learned that yellowstone covers 31 thousand square miles. That's huge! I knew wolves could eat a lot, and they needed to eat it in a short amount of time so that no other animals would get to it before them, but I had no idea they could eat 20 pounds of meat in 10 minutes!

I think going on the Oregon trail will be a lot more work for us, because we will have to sift bugs out of our flour, an do other things like that that we wouldn't have to do at home. It will also be hard because we have too catch a lot of our food, because we can't bring all of the food we will need. It will be sad because we will have to leave behind lots of our friends. I was surprised, that more people die of unsanitary conditions than attacks and rifles on the Oregon trail. I did know that people used cow chips for lots of things though. I learned a lot about badgers too, like that they can take down and eat a rattlesnake, they like the sun, you can eat them, and their meat tastes like a game meat, and has a strong taste. I thought it was cool that gray wolves have webbing on their feet so that they can walk on snow and their feet won't sink down. I was really surprised that our animals that we bring could carry sicknesses that other animals could catch. I was also surprised when he said how long mountain loins' claws are: an inch and 3 quarters! I didn't know that liken was used to make so many things: perfume, dies, and medicine!
