Trying to accommodate the learning space, to make it flexible and student-centered is in contradiction with the big sign hanging above the Smartboard ("No whining"). That, too, is part of the class culture.

You are correct in saying that part of our classroom culture is to speak to each other with respect and maturity. However, I believe that it is a false assumption to think that the "No Whining" sign somehow limits my students' ability to run the classroom. They are not allowed to hit or steal either, but they somehow get through each day successfully. ;) 11/17/2020 02:13:05 am
Wow. It looks beautiful. Many thanks! Comments are closed.

AuthorThis blog is (partly) run by the students in our classroom (I have been doing a lot of it so far). The students are supposed to take turns being the classroom photographer each day and they update this blog at 3:20 before going home. If they need more time to write the captions, they do it from home! We hope you enjoy seeing what we are doing in our 21st Century Classroom! Subscribe to the RSS Feed below if you are interested!
