Today we had to cross the Kansas river to get to the other side. There were several options that we could do to get across the river. There was a ferry man that could take our wagons across for $1 a wagon. Or we could have walked all of them across. Our oxen would swim across first, by them self. Our plan was to have the most important wagons go across with the ferry, and the others go across the river be them self.
When we were executing our plan, the three wagons that went across on the ferry for $3 all made it across safe and sound. Hooray! But when the first wagon that got walked across went to get to the other side went, the wheel hit a rock and spun all awkward directions and spun around. The current pushed the wagon down the river, and all of the items in that wagon fell out! We lost 1/6 of our items! The only good thing was now had a wagon to put our sick and injured.
While the wagon was spinning, two people were in it. So when it went down the stream, the people fell out with all of the items in it too! They broke their arms. Poor Sven and Nikon. Their poor arms! Now they can't help for a while and have to sit in our new, spare, empty wagon. Our medic, Jade, fixed them up for free, so good thing we had her!
