K We know that there are many places in need that need the stuff we are putting in the care packages. We also know we are lucky to have all this stuff. Also we know that there are many things that we don't use anymore and don't need. | W We want to know if the people like the care packages that we will send them. We also want to know if the packages will get there safely. | H We can do this by trying to send things that these people will need, like clothes, toys, and other things that will make them happy. We can also try to find places that will accept the care packages, so they can send it to the place in need. |
L We learned that there are many charities that need donations, but some of them aren't very trustworthy. We also learned that making important phone calls is hard work, because there are so many problems you can run into. | A We will try to persuade others to donate. It doesn't matter how much or what you donate, it just matters that you take part in it. We are lucky to have what we have, and we should share it with others who aren't so fortunate. | Q I wonder why some of the donation places that were trustworthy, didn't work for us? I also wonder if our donations make a big difference to the people's lives? Finally, I wonder if others will listen to our video, and donate things to charities? |
Emma's Reflection
I loved donating to Salvation Army. It was fun to make our video and persuade people to donate. Even though this project was fun, to me it felt a little bit stressing. Not all of it felt stressing, but trying to find a place to donate to was very hard. We tried calling places but we ran into problems like fax-machines, wrong numbers, and not answering. I learned about many different charities, and how they can help people. Over all, I though this was an awesome Passion Time Project.
Luke's Reflection
I liked that we got to help people. We also learned a lot about contact information. We learned that everyone that you want to donate to is good. For example, one place lead us to phone call to phone call to phone call. I felt really nice throughout the project. I learned about the different types of charities that actually work. I thought like hospitals would work out for us, but most of the hospitals just wanted money from us. There was a lot of other places that took donations were usually thrift shops. This might have been the nicest project I have done for a person that is why I liked it.
