Water is a big part of a geographer's work because they have to put rivers and lakes and oceans on maps. We would not be able to know were the Mississippi river or lake Michigan is. Geographers study water and the location of water. Also they have interests in knowing how floods effect the land. Like how it brings nutrients to the land. They are also interested in how droughts make deserts bigger. They also research how the land effects humans and animals.
Life without water would be very different. We can't take showers and we cant wash our hands. But Most important we can't live. We would dehydrate in a week. The lives of animals and plants without water would be very different. plants need water to grow so if they can't grow we can't eat plants. Also animals would die and we have nothing to eat or drink. To keep water in our lives we have to not throw trash in it or put oil in it. Also we should turn water off when we don't use it. Water is interesting because it can change into three different forms. Water, Ice, and water vapor. It is important for scientists to study water because then we now what water is safe or not safe. -The Marty and Ian group has a lot of good facts.
-I think Corrine did well with researching authors inspiration -I think Ryan and Dakota did well with making a really good website and a google doc. The website had a lot of facts and pictures. When I poured my water into my partners water I heard a quiet trickling like when you turn on the faucet lightly. Also I heard a smooth high pitched sound like the sound you hear at a water fountain.
When the water was still it looked like a clear smooth liquid. When it was shaking a little I could see movement like very small waves in the ocean. But the water was still very transparent. When it was moving from one cup to the other it looked like a very, very small waterfall. The water smelled like a very clean lake or a new car it just smelled fresh. The water tasted like a refreshing cool and clean drink. it felt smooth unlike a soft drink. When I felt the water it felt colder than when I drank it. Also it felt wet and smooth. There were no bubbles rising up like coke. Water vapor is air and Ice is solid and frozen. There both made out of water. When I was 9 years old I went to the private pool behind my apartment because it was like 96 degrees outside. When I got there like 20 people were in the pool out of the 55 people limit. But right after I got there my neighbor came with some people from school. I went across the scorching ground to get in the in the pool quick so I could surprise my friends. I went in the refreshing water and submerged. When my friend got on an inflatable raft I sneaked under him and flipped the raft over. But then it turned out that I flipped over a different kid. I quickly went up for air and went back down so I wouldn't be caught. Next I made sure It was the right float. So then I submerged under the icy cold water and flipped over my friend. He shrieked in surprise and quickly chased me around the perimeter of the pool. I apologized and ate lunch.
