As part of our social studies unit, we are going to be apprentices, and I chose to be a silversmith apprentice because I like silver, and I thought helping make stuff of it would be fun. In colonial times, everyone had to be an apprentice to learn a trade. That way they would learn about their trade from a master, or someone who was really good at the trade. Then it would be easier to open their own shop. And they would have plenty of experience! I know I can learn this trade because I love silver and will pay attention well.
