Today we went on a field trip to the Brookfield zoo! We got to go in groups of ten people with one chaperone. We got to pick the people we wanted in our group even with people in the other classes! As we went throughout the zoo we had a scavenger hunt looking for certain facts about animals. The first ones to find everything got an afternoon snack if you haven't already brought one. It was lots of fun. In my group with Mr. Solarz we say different varieties of birds, bears, reptiles, fish, turtles, a bunch of geese, and a lion that woke up and started to come right up to the window. If the glass was not there I could reach out and touch it. The gorillas we saw we in some trees looking around at us. They looked like they could actually understand us as we said hi. Some exhibits did not have any glass built up inside with such as the bat exhibit! It was pretty cool when we went in there because when we looked up we could see the bats right above us, it was pretty scary. We also saw hippos, and wolves and they were outside. As we walked along we learned lots of interesting facts about the animals and how we can help save the species. Did you know when kangaroos are just born they are about the size of a jelly bean and weigh as much as a penny? All of this fun was going on throughout the day, and the zoo let us do this for free! It was really cool, I hope to go back there s
