My Reflection
This was the best 3 day of my life on the Oregon Trail. We stopped for three days in Alcove Springs. There was fresh water and trees. Since the water was so clean, we spent a lot of time swimming. There was a lot of people swimming, but it was still very nice. We also had our best meals on the trip. We had caught a rabbit and made some stew with it! The food we ate when we were on the Trail was terrible. At least we have food on the Trail. On the Trail we had leftovers from breakfast. That is not a lunch. Then in Alcove Springs we picked berries and like I said we have rabbit. We also got to bathe and get some new clothes to put on! There was also some games we got to play. For example, dominoes was one of the ones we played. We also had a wonderful dessert. We had apple cobbler! We also got the chance to straighten up our wagons. Another thing to add on to the clothes is that we cleaned every single part of clothing. The most important thing was that our animals got a lot of rest! This will mean they might push more for tomorrows trip. This is paradise! We don't even need Oregon. Why don't we just stay here.
Notes for Demonstrations
My Reflection This was a really surprising demonstration. It showed many things about water. It showed us how much water percentage there is on the Earth. For example, I didn't know there was so much salt water on the Earth! There is like no fresh water compared to salt water. Then there were these crazy low numbers for water in the Earth. There was less then a hundredth of a percent on the Earth of air water. They were pretty low you have to admit. This surprised me because I thought that the air would be able to have the most water out of all of them. I thought that because there is a lot more air in the Earth then land and surface water. This was a great experience to learn about water.
My Reflection In the Skype there was many things that I learned. For example, I never knew there were Mud-Pots, and then I learned they are so cool. It is not just because it is something with mud! There is also some cool geysers in Yellowstone National Park. There is one that is only the size as your fist. The most important thing was that beaver skins we should hunt. They go for more money. My Reflection
There was many things I learned today. I already know what I am going to get. I don't want to go crazy with clothes that is for sure! I am planning to purchase some weaponry, so I can go hunting. I also am going to buy a ball just in case I get bored. I also am going to bring a knife to skin the animals and help me eat. I also want to bring toilet paper, so I don't get sick. There is probably a lot of personal and other things I will bring also, but that just named a few. There is going to be a lot of people, so you will not know who to trust on this trip. I will name a bigger list of what I am going to bring and our group as well. We will bring ropes, spyglasses, some chains, king bolts, and we will be bringing food. There will be people watching overnight (I hope) to see if there will be any predators. This will keep our trip safe. We will also have to hunt along the Oregon Trail. I will step up to to hunt, but I don't want to be fighting if we get caught up with so0me Indians on the trail. That would be bad. We also wouldn't want to lose our food. This would be bad. We can keep them safe though. I hope that we will be able to make the Oregon Trail and go to Oregon. Our Stuff to Bring Our Solvr
My Reflection There has been a lot of things I learned. For example there is so many ways you can tell the difference between a wolf and a coyote. He also gave us a lot of hints on the problems we might have during the walk. Richard was very helpful for our simulation. He is giving us big hints and we have taken some important notes that might change what happens on the walk. There is many problems like wolves and coyotes. They could be are predators. There is also many other predators like mountain lions. They could attack our cattle that is very, very, very important! I also learned that wolves and coyote's will annoy us to get what they want. That could be a big problem on the trip. There is also some dangerous birds. That could be a problem. The animals that we see could have a disease! There will be bears, eagles, and birds that will annoy us. The flour can get bugs in it too! It looks like there are many problems, but it matters which ones we face.
Science Fair Presentation- First Draft
Science Fair Presentation- Improved Version
My Reflection I think that Science Fair was a valuable experience because it helped us in many way. It helped when we were saying our speeches at the Science Fair. That will help me for the future. Also, it helped us that we had the experience of just doing an actual experiment. That means it will help us in future things in school. I made some mistakes along the way, but I did fix them. For example, in the experiment sometimes something would happen to the tape and that would mess up my whole test. It could be annoying, but then I know what to do for my next project. I probably would have done things differently if I could. For example, I would have liked to use more then 5 tapes. I know that would take longer, but then I will know more about the different kinds of tape. This Science Fair was really fun to do. I hope that the people who came to the fair liked it.
What I would say to to James is that we are going out West for the farmland. We want the farmland to make our money and the weather is mild. That means that we would make a lot of money and we would have some good weather there also. The nice soil will fit perfectly with farming and the mild weather. The land of Oregon has the perfect farmland and nice weather. The soil is also very nice. Mild weather+ nice soil+ free farmland= Money. The farmland is also very cheap or free! That means we will be making money with barely giving any money. That is a plan for success. I know why people are going like us. They are probably going either for the gold or the farmland of Oregon. Also they could just be going to be free from other people. There was a lot of people in the East. There was also something bad happening to one of the religions that I don't know. The government could have also been a reason they are moving. I am Aatto Corhonen. I am from South Carolina. I was a farmer with poor soil and I didn't make that much money. My family was poor. Then I heard this tale about Oregon and I was like that is awesome. I have a family of just me and my wife. The only thing is my wife just died so I am by myself. In hope of money I have decided on going to Oregon. I hope that the farmland will be nice and good for farming. I am so excited to go to Oregon! I will be like rich and will have like a lot more money then I have ever had in my life! I want to go so bad for the farmlands and the rich soil. This is going to be awesome and cool. I am so excited and I hope I will make some new friends. This is going to be great. |
