Today, we stopped for a day at the alcove spring and actually had good food. These foods were berries that we picked, a rabbit stew with potatoes and other vegetables that I hunted with a few other early birds this morning, and we even had an apple cobbler for desert! Then we decided to say for a few extra days. Some of the games we played were sac racing, horse racing, London bridge, and Hide and go seek. The day also included games that we don't often get to do any more. I went horse back racing and played checkers with another part of our wagon train. With all of this fun we also had to do some chores like washing close, and cleaning our wagons (making them look nice). The next few days I went hunting for so pelts and got my groups wagon a bit more organized. I wish we could stay here and just eat amazing food, play games, and hunt game. Sorry for the video I took Keegan's because I was not here when we did the video and I do not have the right criteria to make one.
Notes:
My Reflection: When you think about water on earth what do you think about? Do you think about salt water? Or fresh? What we learned about in class was amazing the earth is mainly filled up with salt water. There is not a lot of fresh water percentage wise but there is though not nearly as much as salt water.
This trees data is that the CBH is 89 inches. The DBH is ______ inches
Reflection: This was a very interesting lesson because we learned about Yellowstone National park. We learned how it became a park and the things inside. I really liked this lesson because I like history and learning what people did.
I learned so much from this lesson about what the people on the Oregon Trail took with them. I took the things that we will need with us on the Oregon Trail. All know that when we get to Oregon we will have a much better and easier life. We all wanted to use a Prairie Schooner as our wagon for traveling and storage, and I think that this decision will help us through the journey. It really surprised me that we got oxen to pull us though. I thought that we would get mules to pull our wagon because they can go longer that oxen. But I guess now that I think about it I realize that the mules are very hard to control and tame, while oxen are much easier to do so. We also brought extra things for the wagon just in-case a part of the wagon broke. We took extra king-bolts and axles, and hopefully we have enough to last us until the first fort that we travel by. But so far, we are doing okay through Trail! This is a link to the solvr Page (Below) This is a link to our google doc
