Today we blew up balloons and stood on a sheet of paper that had the word launch on it and let the balloon out of are hand and tried to aim at a target. I do not think that anybody hit the target but trial and error is part of science and knowing that I did not get mad. I think that this lesson helps students learn that they are not going to always complete there experiment. Also some things are not possible to predict and this is one of them.
