I know that Frita is intimidating and a good example of when Frita is intimidating is on page 80 where it says Frita orders Gabe to go and he doesn’t even think about defying her and does what he is told. This proves he is intimidating because like I said before he didn’t think about saying “No!” or fighting back but instead he just went with because he knew he couldn’t win in an argument. There is actually two examples to go with that because just a minute after she says that the Evans get out of their truck and Duke glared at her and she glared right back! This would be intimidating because Duke knows she can beat him up. The next thing I will talk about is when Frita shows just how intimidating she can be while her Gabe,Duke and Frankie are all at the moving up day ceremony and both Duke and Gabe take a beating! While at the moving up day ceremony and Frita and Gabe finished a long conversation about school and what they are going to do about Gabes fear of it, Frita is long gone shaking with excitement while she waited in line to get her certificate, Duke and Frankie pay Gabe a visit. They tie and beat him up and leave him under a picnic table! After Frita finds out she unties Gabe grabs his arm and searches for Duke in the ocean of children and when she spotted him in the crowed she let go of Gabe and darted towards Duke and punched him in the nose! This would definitely both intimidate and embarrass Duke because probably the toughest girl he knows marched towards him and punched him in the nose! It would be embarrassing because back then people were racist and he just got beat up by a little black girl.
Today we arrived at Alcove Springs! Alcove Springs is a heavenly paradise that I never want to leave! There is clean water we can play in and fresh food and we had rabbit stew and apple cobbler for desert! This place is truly extraordinary. We played all sorts of games like checkers and cats cradle and we sang songs and I never want to leave! Sure we have to do chores like wash clothes but that's a small price to pay for heaven on earth! Despite my laziness I still know that I need to give those poor oxen a break! They had to pull our possessions and wagons (Which by the way we cleaned.) for miles and they might even die if they don't get a break because animals shouldn't have to endure that kind of exhaustion and aren't meant to walk that long, and another thing about the clothes is even though it's another chore I am happy to wash those crusty rags! I should still be happy because this place is so wonderful there are trees fresh water, tons of food too and personally I think that we might want to settle here!
Notes:Earths water is 97.24% salt water! .001% of the earths fresh water is in the air! .01% of the Earths fresh water is surface water! .61% of the Earths fresh water is ground water! 2.14% of the Earths fresh water is frozen water! Reflection: I was surprised by how much I was off at fist but then I just accepted all of my predictions were wrong and either way I figured I would get them all wrong anyway. It's shocking how little fresh water we have on earth and I think that we are extremely lucky to have so much fresh water and lots of us take it for gran it.
Lots of Trappers came there and tried to catch mainly beavers do to the popularity of the beaver felt hats! In my opinion that's kind of ridiculous! There are still 26 native American tribes associated with Yellow stone park! Yellow stone parks winters are freezing! So we better pass through there during summer or we might die. The temperature will be very dramatic and harsh near Yellow Stone. Yellow Stone is very isolated. Native Americans actually used obsidian as arrow heads. Yellow stones volcano erupted three times! Also it reached Illinois sometimes!(That's super far!) Because of expeditions Yellow became a national park and I just assumed the Government decided it was unique and should be protected. We should not sit in hot springs at yellow stone they are way to hot! They are about 200 degrees! Mud pots water is acidic and it eats the rock around it!(I didn't know mud pots existed!) Old Faithfuls (Old Faithful is the famous geyser in yellow stone national park)hole where the water comes out is about as big as an adults fist I mean I thought that it would be around that big but that's still crazy. Honestly it's kind of mind blowing how many amazing things are in yellow stone national park!
one of the most interest things is that yellow stone is one giant volcano! In my personal opinion I think that yellow stone could be a wonder of the world because of all of the amazing things there. It shocked me that the ancient volcanic explosions even reached to Illinois! We have decided to ride in prairie schooners to travel on the Oregon trail with and we have also decided to bring only what seems realistic but I sometimes disagreed with the other members of the wagon train but I was sadly overruled. I think we have a good chance of surviving but I have heard that others died of sickness and I fear for the worst.
Original science fair I am glad I recorded this because I can see the change in my video and how my confidence might have changed. Improved Science Fair Reflection:
