Humans use water by drinking it.
Humans use water when they are caring for there pets.
Humans play in the water like the pool, or the ocean.

Penguins spend 75% of there time in the water hunting for food.

Everyone needs water, even penguins. Penguins use water on a daily bases just like us! Penguins use water to stay hydrated because without drinking water then they can die. Penguins play in the water a lot they spend 75% of there time in the water to hunt for fish which also live in the water. Since penguins get so dirty during there busy day they have to bathe, but they bathe in the water to. So if a penguins didn't have water the it would be a pretty boring life for them.

1. I think water is a natural resources because it's naturally on the earth and it doesn't need a humans help.

2. We need water to survive because we need to stay hydrated and we need it to bathe ourselves so we don't get dirty.

I have some worries about going to mars because I heard that there are a lot of different problems and sicknesses you can get. On mars it can get to -225 degrees so you can freeze and get frost bite and our doors can get frozen shut, also our laptops and tecnolgy could get frozen and not work for our jobs and we would not be able to research anything we need. There are very bad dust storms because the planet is made up of a lot of dust and that can really effect your breathing and give you any type of lung cancer or a lung dissease. I am also worried about seeing any type of life on mars like robots or anything like that because maybe it could blow up and hurt me.

Surfing

Back when I was six years old my whole family went to Mexico and my brother and I were in the ocean having fun. That day we got a lesson to go surfing, we were very excited! I got into the ocean with my board and all of a sudden I see a big wave coming my way, at first I hesitated, but then I hopped up on my board and the wave took me all the way to the shore.while I was standing up I was yelling "Whooo" because it was so fun. I wasn't expecting the wave to pull me under so I thought that I was going to drown because I didn't take a big breath in.It felt like I blacked out when I fell under, but I didn't. After I did it once I started to get the hang of it, I started to balance really good on the board and I remembered to take a big breath in and expect what happened to me before. After we went surfing my brother and I stayed in the ocean and floated and let the waves carry us because we were so tired and sore from surfing.

Ice Facts

Two of the coldest places on earth are the north and south pole.
Ice is found as glaciers and ice caps at high altitudes.
Ice is found on or below the seas as ice shelfs or icebergs.
Ice covers the mountains in the Cryosphere all year long.
It is very snowy and icy in the Arctics.
Melting causes the size of an iceberg to change.
In the winter time the trees and the leaves get frosted.
Sometimes at fancy places you see an ice sculpture that's made of ice too.
Erosion is the process when a piece of earths surface moves from one place to another.
An avalanche happens when when a great amount of snow or ice moves down a hill or mountain quickly.
The Arctic and Antarctic regions are part of the Cryosphere.
The Cryosphere refers to the part of earth where water is found year round as ice or snow.
Permafrost is a place where glaciers, sea ice, freshwater, and frozen ground is found.
The two poles (north and south) are each at the bottom and at the top of the earth.

4. What do you think are the risks are traveling to such a distance place?

5. What would you want to bring with you?

Answers

1. Somethings I know about Nasa's trip to mars is that before they take off they practice things that could or might go wrong so they are prepared for anything that can happen. I also know that they study a lot about the planet before they go there like how hot or how cold it is there.

2. The trip will take 2 and one half years long, but eighteen months on the martian surface. Days are a few minuted longer then normal, but years are twice as long. The total amount of miles it will take is about 250 million miles to get to mars.

3. Some things that they need to be able to survive there are food, water, and plenty of oxygen tanks because there is no oxygen on mars (or in space either)

4. I think the risks of traveling to such a far distance place is maybe something will go wrong with your ship, maybe something crashes into your ship, and maybe there is a chance that you can die.

5. Somethings that I would bring with me are food, water, and my everyday thing I use like my tooth brush and my hair brush.

If The World Were a Village

Some things that surprised me were that 10 out of the 100 rich people have 85% of the worlds money. The poor people get 700 dollars and the rich people get 87,500 dollars a year. Another thing that surprised me was that most of the people who have energy only use it at night unlike us we use it everyday all day long except for at night. 17% of the energy comes from nuclear power and 10% comes from the wind.

Some things that upset me were that a lot of people were dieing from malaria. Forty one people lived in some climates that had major problems with malaria. Six out of one hundred people get malaria a year. Another thing that made me sad was that the water and the air was not always safe so some people were drinking sewage water so that means waste such as poop, pee etc... Other villagers have lung cancer because of the bad air they are breathing in. I think that it's crazy that so many people are struggling from bad sicknesses that made me very sad to think about this very bad situation.

Some things that made me want to do something about this is the future was to donate money to the homeless people or give food to the starving people and give clothing to goodwill and maybe in the future I will try to help out in the soup kitchen like Mr. Solarz does.
