1. Somethings I know about Nasa's trip to mars is that before they take off they practice things that could or might go wrong so they are prepared for anything that can happen. I also know that they study a lot about the planet before they go there like how hot or how cold it is there. 

2. The trip will take 2 and one half years long, but eighteen months on the martian surface. Days are a few minuted longer then normal, but years are twice as long. The total amount of miles it will take is about 250 million miles to get to mars. 

3. Some things that they need to be able to survive there are food, water, and plenty of oxygen tanks because there is no oxygen on mars (or in space either) 

4.  I think the risks of traveling to such a far distance place is maybe something will go wrong with your ship, maybe something crashes into your ship, and maybe there is a chance that you can die.

5. Somethings that I would bring with me are food, water, and my everyday thing I use like my tooth brush and my hair brush.

4. Why do our pupils get bigger in the dark and smaller in the light?

5. How does this reflex protect our eyes?

1. I can feel when my eyes dilate because when i am in the light I squint my eyes and when I am in the darkness they start to open up more. 

2. You do not have any control over when your eyes dilate because when you are in the dark they get bigger but when you are in the light they get smaller.

3. We call this sensory nerves, and motor nerves. 

4. Our pupils get smaller when we are in the light because our eyes are so sencitive to such bright light but when we are in the dark they close up because it does not hurt them. 

5. This reflex protects our eyes because if we were staring at the sun all day then we would be blind. 

1. Catching the ruler with my eyes closed was harder then catching it with my eyes open because I could not see it an I didn't know that it was in the air and I didn't know when I should grab it. 

2. I could use the sense of smell for catching the ruler because I could feel the air/ wind so I know when to catch it. 

3. I think that I could catch the ruler by sense of taste  
if someone dropped something really sour or really sweet onto my tongue.
4. I think that my brain and my nerves  in my fingers really helped me because if I didn't have nerves.  then the ruler would just slide through my hands. My brain also helped me a lot because without my brain then I would not know when I should tighten my hands to be able to catch it.  

5.  My body responded to the paper hitting the clear paper by flinching because since I can see through the paper it made me feel like the paper was going to break the clear paper and hurt my eyes. 

6. This reflex would have protected my eyes if the transparency was not there because the paper ball might have cut my eye or it could have poked it and both of those reasons would probably hurt really bad.   

7. I do think that the nervous system responded to both blinking and catching the ruler in the same way because when we getting paper thrown at us we some of us flinched so that made us be like who I did not see that coming and for the catching the ruler was much harder then I thought that it was going to be.
